Production influences - Mike Stone, Gus Dudgeon, Stuart Epps, Chris Kimsey, Clive Franks (Fantastic Live Engineer) and many more. I'm a bit of a die hard Rocker and love the older style of production, when Tape was the used medium and things didn't consist of Zero's & One's. Each to their own. I know I use a full DAW!! but pros & cons and all that.......Tee Hee,
Have fun!!
Most of my time is now spent running 2 studios for the Youth Awareness Programme, producing and teaching young people how to record, make beats, and create their first masterpiece!. We have regular showcases for the acts in and around london and I'm happy to say that they have had great reviews. Most of the acts are all under the age of 18 and have never had the chance to make music until now. They get taught to use - Pro tools, Logic Pro, Reason etc... as well as basic grounding in signal routing and basic acoustics. Some of these Kids are incredible in how quickly they learn and understand the whole process of studio craft.
I have produced and mixed for the Beefeaters, Dead Residents, Solidara, MC Hasta, and provided live sound services for Peter Andre, Bad Manners, Boy George, Dreem Team (Radio 1), Echobelly, Elton John,Gus Dudgeon, Slinki Malinki, David Gray, Ute Lemper, Joe Longthorne, Massive Attack, George Melly, Morcheeba, Trevor Nelson (Radio 1), Mark Knight, No Doubt, The Prodigy, Wasp Factory, Alistair Whitehead, Groovejet - Spiller, Aziza Mustafa Zadeh, Dead Residents, Mary Mary, Vee Kay, Helicopter Girl, Death in Vegas, Badly Drawn Boy, Fantazia, Gataecrasher, Jesus Jones, Roger Sanchez, East 17. My home Studio is based around a Pro tools HD2 system with Logic Pro at the front end. Blue Sky,KRK, Quested & Custom Opus Audio Technologies monitors (Stereo Only, No Dolby yet!), Focusrite ISA 428 Mic pre's, AKG,Rode, Neumann micropnones and the complete suite of Waves plugins. Lexicon reverbs (hardware) Focusrite liquid Chan & Liquid mix, Mackie control & extender, Yamaha electric Piano, 2 x 1210's, Vestax and Rane mixers. Plus lots of Romplers and software instrumnets and royalty free sample library. Fender & PRS guitars, POD XT and Bass pod guitar modeling systems and thats about it for the minute..........there's so much new gear out there, when's it going to stop!!! Pro tools on an iphone in 2 years............ any bets?
