starling nestling, one noisy bird!! (Sorry its blurry)
"Rocky" was hit by car one summer night and my son brought home for me to save, considering he was the one who accidently hit the poor thing. Rocky pulled through and lived to roam free again. "Ansel" & ""pallids" & big brown
four of Monique's (my friend/rehabber sidekick) rehab bats, which I get the honor to batsit for her at time
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

About me: Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened."
~Anatole France~
I am an Animal Rescuer.
My job is to assist God's creatures.
I was born with the need to fulfill their needs.
I take in new family members without plan, thought or selection.
I have bought dog food with my last dime,
I have patted a mangy head with a bare hand,
I have hugged someone vicious and afraid,
I have fallen in love a thousand times,
and I have cried into the fur of a lifeless body.
I have Animal Friends and friends who have animal friends.
I don't often use the word 'pet'.
I notice those lost at the road side
And my heart aches.
I will hand raise a field mouse
And make friends with a vulture
I know of no creature unworthy of my time.
I want to live forever if there aren't animals in Heaven
But I believe there are
Why would God make something so perfect and leave it behind.
We may be master of the animals,
But the animals have mastered themselves.
Something people still haven't learned
War and Abuse makes me hurt for the world,
but a rescue that makes the news gives me hope for mankind.
We are a quiet but determined army
And making a difference every day.
There is nothing more necessary than warming an orphan,
nothing more rewarding than saving a life,
no higher recognition than watching them thrive,
and no greater joy than seeing a baby play
who only days ago, was too weak to eat.
I am an Animal Rescuer,
My work is never done.
My home is never quiet,
my wallet is always empty.
But my heart is always full.
In the game of life, we have already won.

This is for anyone who is going to, or has ever, released a squirrel....from the squirrel's point of view.
Mamma, I see you down there, looking up at me
Yes, I know how high I am, up in this big ol' tree....
yes, I know I should be careful when I jump
from limb to limb....
Mamma, I don't think I ever want to ever go back in....!
Mamma? Watch me, see me chase that other squirrel!!
It's so beautiful up here, such a green and golden world....
The air's so sweet and there are many, many things to do!
It's so much better here! I feel it, mamma....don't you, too?
Don't be so sad, Mamma, please don't start to cry
You gave me back to the trees, the sunshine and the sky
God sent me to you, Mamma, 'cause he knows that you are strong
Strong enough to let me go,
up here,
where I belong.

P.S. My yellow Plumeria plant from Hawaii is finally blooming after 2 1/2 years!!! I am so excited! It's beautiful and smells so pretty! (see pictures below).
Unfortunately, we do not have a squirrel specialist here in Colorado, so I am coming to you. We received a squirrel that had been domesticated for a little over a year and has been kept in a cage. The squirrel is okay, but has some muscle atrophy from being in a small place so long. I now have "Baby", but am not entirely sure what to do. I don't dare release her as she is unable to move properly at this time. Is there any hope for releasing this squirrel? If not, how long will I have a squirrel? How long do they live. Apart from the restricted movement the squirrel is in good health.
Hi I'm Twinkle named after the stars shining in the sky, well so I'm told. I usually ride round the house on the cat, with Lynn chasing after me shouting 'Twinkle get back here', she always tries to spoil things. Tonight I'm going to "TRICK OR TREAT" I have been getting ready for my holiday, as you can see I bought a hat to wear to protect my ears from the cold because those stupid ear muffs don't protect my ears at all. I have also bought a sarong but Lynn is washing it because I rolled around in dirt when I tried it on, she was not happy. After all, you have got to try everything out when I'm on the beach I don't want to show my bear bottom (No joke). Everyone is in bed so I crept downstairs, trying not to make a sound. I saw the cat, he opened one eye, I hid in the shadows of the night, then he fell back to sleep. I silently went into the kitchen. Finally I was alone! Well sort of, this spooky spider was on the wall. I sat down and opened candy bags. It was TEN o'clock when I dragged myself upstairs to bed way full of candy. (GUMMY BEARS)
