squishmusic (or squish as they were first called) have been slowly, but surely, increasing their online musical presence since twothousand. It all started in squish's bedroom back in the rave years of the nineties.
His first tracks threw into the mixing desk, influences from the late 80's acid/ambient house explosion and subconscious ones from the melody rich 60's music exposed to squishmusic by his parents!
It was upon hearing the beautiful floating electronic sounds of Pacific by 808 state, when still a teenage tearaway, that made squishmusic want to create his own brand of aural *****! It was the late eighties electronic dance music explosion that inspired Squishmusic to save his pennies, to become pounds, and buy a MIDI keyboard.
He thus embarked on his maiden musical voyage and in 1992, with the receipt of some more ever groovy electro machinery, he wrote his first composition Atlas -
now digitally revived from the analogue graves. For the next four years, he lived the days and nights without bread nor water to tame his crazy machines to produce electronic music and by the mid-nineties had amassed ''quite a few good choons!'' These tracks, produced on a little Yamaha synth, gained squishmusic many favourable reviews in the pro-recording music press, including Top Tape award (before CD demos became the norm..) in Sound on Sound magazine, (7/96) and later at electromancer.com, (Sadly now defunct).
The music fell silent from '96 to 2000 (while squishy attended Uni) but even today, more than 10 years on, his tracks are still receiving aural appreciation by way of, remix-treatments by new bands (see blogs/links) licensing opportunities, as well as internet, festival and college radio airplay! Testament to the fact that squishmusic are still seen as producers of innovative electronic music, or as they like to 'genrelise' it, electrorgasmichilloutechnosoup!
