Welcome everybody! Below is my 'official' musical biography and here you can find some of the recordings I have of myself (mostly of actually my music) with various bands! .. Srdjan Ivanovic - drummer/percussionist/composer .. Born 1983, in Sarajevo (Bosnia&Herzegovina), Srdjan has been living in Amsterdam - The Netherlands for the past 6 years. .. In July 2008 he won the ..Dutch Jazz Competition.. with his band “Srdjan Ivanovic Blazin' Quartet” (later renamed to ..Blazin' Quartet..), at finals held at North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam. They performed around the Netherlands, making the ..Young VIPs Tour.. as well as at ..North Sea Jazz Festival 2009.., competing in the EBU European Jazz Competition (representing the Netherlends). .. In April 2008, he won the 1st prize at the ..Holland Casino Jazz&Pop Award.., being appraised by the jury for the originality of both his compositions and playing. He also won the 1st prize in the 2009 edition of the same award, playing with the Aleksandar Grujic Trio. .. He was most recently (June 2009) taking part as a musician-actor in a play of the ..Theatergroup De Appel.. directed by “Proscenium Prize” winner Aus Greidanus named ..'Blik'... The play was performed all 9 days of the ..Oerol Festival.. with an everyday sold out attendance of 1.000 people in the audience. Also the play was performed at the Appel Theater in September and October, with almost all of the 38 performances sold out. .. In 2008&2009 Srdjan has been performing with the patchanka band ..“Mala Vita”.., playing over 60 concerts in 2008 and 2009 in large venues and festivals, a.o. ..Parkpop.. – Den Haag (200.000 estimated visit), ..Zwarte Cross.. – Lichtenvoorde, ..Dranouter Festival.., Esperanzah – Ille De Floreffe (B). .. Srdjan graduated from the ..Conservatory of Amsterdam.. in 2007 with teachers Marcel Serierse, Martijn Vink, Lucas van Merwijk and Gergard Jeltes. He obtained a ..Master's Degree.. (Mmus) at the ..Utrechts Conservatorium.. in June 2009 with teacher Joost Kesselaar. He has also attended workshops and masterclasses of a.o. Terry Lynne Carrington, Ari Hoening, Jim Black, Peter Erskine and has taken lessons with drummers as Ronnie Burrage and Kostas Anastasiadis. .. Before coming to the Netherlands, Srdjan lived in Athens – Greece for 11 years. There he started playing the drums at the age of 13 and was lucky to have a great teacher, the greek drummer ..George Polyhronakos... He also attended the Pallini Experimental Music Secondary School where he learned to play traditional percussion for which he received twice the first prize and once the second prize in 3 consecutive years at the Hellenic Traditional Music Competition. .. He has performed live in Austria, Belgium, Bosnia, Egypt, Greece, Germany, Hungary, France, The Netherlands, Serbia, Switzerland, Italy, Poland and and played and recorded with many of the best musicians in Greece and The Netherlands. .. He has been interviewed by various media, a.o. the ..Slagwerkkrant.. (drummers magazine), ..Slobodna Bosna.. (bosnian weekly magazine) and has appeared on shows such as ..De Werld Draait Door.. and Giel Beelen's 3FM morning radio programme, Koen Schouten's Shouting Boots radio programe on ..Radio 6.., and his band the Blazin' Quartet has been repeatedly acclaimed by critics and journalists of magazines and newspapers such as ..Jazz.. and ..De Volkskrant... ..
