Sergio Miranda, aka SRG, started making electronic music in 2002. Shortly after that, he was already one of the most promissing talents in the portuguese scene , drawing the attention of producers and labels by always exploring new sounds and an alternative concept in dance music.
Music drew his attention even before he started to speak. His mom, a professional jazz pianist, was his main source of inspiration. Even so, he only started playing at age 15, when he formed a garage band with his best friends. Having finished his classical studies in upright bass and played for years in several jazz formations, he graduated from Berklee College of Music as a Music Sythesis major, where he deepened his concepts in heavy-weight programming (Csound, Max/MSP).
In 2006, he formed Straightflash with frenchman Tom Six. They played their live PA extensively in Brazil and Portugal, in clubs and festivals, such as Boom and Universo Paralello. They also released several original tracks and remixes with New Breed Recordings.
Keeping Straightflash in activity, Sergio felt the need to explore his own sound, something that cannot be shared, that is inherent to oneself. The result is a dark and driving minimal techno, mixing lush textures and tight rhytms, delivering a powerful yet detailed live set.
His productions are coming out at a fast rate with iNminimax label among others, and are available at most mp3 internet shops.
