    SR Kovacovic's Interests
Generalpoetry, novel writing, short stories, and flash prose.
MusicDepends on my mood cycle at the moment. When I am low I like indie stuff like Moby, Mercury Rev, Interpol, Elliott Smith, Grizzly Bear, and other stuff like that. When I am manic I like traditional folk music, bluegrass, roots music, celtic, Rich Mullins, and Goran Bregovic.
BooksI don't even know where to start here. Right now I am on a Graham Greene kick. He is an amazing story teller. If you want to read some really helpful books, try The Imitation of Christ, Seven Storey Mountain, The Lessons of St. Francis, Confessions of St. Augustine, The Way of the Pilgrim, and, of course, The Bible. Also, you should really check out Relief journal. It is my favorite (not just because they are publishing my poem in November, but because the journal really ROCKS!!!)http://reliefjournal.com/
HeroesJesus, St. Francis of Assisi, Brother Juniper, Martin Luther King jr., and my father.

About me:
This site was created for the sole pupose to post my writing. The imagery often comes from my personal struggles with recovery from alcoholism and bipolar disorder. This is not fluffy in the least. The words, thoughts, sentiments are at most times crewd to say the least. However, if I don't get them out in some fashion they will continue to rattle around my head tearing my mind to shreds. Please leave feedback. You can comment on your thoughts about recovery, the symptoms, your own experiences, the poetic devices I chose to implement, your overall exchange of the lyrical experience, whatever. Just please let me know you are breathing. One last thing, I don't want to give ANYBODY the impression that there is not hope to be found if you have a mental illness or addiction. On the contrary! I am often only compelled to write when I am feeling hopeless, but the act of making productive use of my illness restores that hope. The very existence of these works is the proof of a higher power that can and will heal you if called upon.
Who I'd like to meet:
Already met God but I would really like to SEE Him.

New Catholic T-shirt design for Halloween!. The festival of "All Saints" is also known as "All Hallows Day" ("hallows" meaning "saints,"), It's a feast celebrated November 1 in honor of all the saints. Halloween is the day preceding it, and is so named because it's "The Eve of All Hallows." Often times we get excited about collecting candy and going to parties, but neglect the day after. So in a sense, we are choosing Frankenstein over Francis! I hope you have a great remainder of the week!

God Bless,

-Dan
