This MySpace Page is here to tell the truth about Djinn Buckingham, a child who was arrested and charged as an adult at the age of 12 for Arson and Second-Degree Homicide. Most of the newspaper and TV reports tell a much different story than the truth, dig deeper than what's on the surface and you will find a bigger story, a story of neighbors holding a vendetta against Djinn and the family. I know the truth. Djinn did not start the fire he is currently incarcerated for. Many of you will say, he confessed! Well let's look at the circumstances around that supposed confession a little closer! Djinn had no attorney present during questioning, his mother was in Arizona for the burial of Sierra (the girl who died in the fire) she was told of the questioning of all three children (Katrina, Kyla and Djinn) by C&Y, and said it was OK to question them as long as it was only a FEW QUESTIONS and a case worker whom the children liked was in the questioning room where the children were being questioned was present. Two "Seasoned" professionals a Corporal with the Police Department and a Marshall with the Fire Department questioned Djinn's older sisters before him,after they're questioning they were in hysterics and crying from the way they were treated by their questioners. Then they questioned Djinn after a three hour questioning session and not hearing what they wanted to hear-the questioners engaged Djinn in a fantasy conversation and created a fictitious statement. Please understand we are talking about a learning disabled child, who had a hard time functioning in school, he was also socially underdeveloped. Was under the influence of several prescribed medications, which made him easily confused, fidgety and extremely irritable, some of these medications were not to be prescribed to children-yet he was given these meds at the age of 12. There is no recording or tape of this questioning, and there is no oral or written confession from this session-the only people who stated that Djinn confessed was the examiners themselves.

If you were a 12 year old child, with no friend or family with you, no attorney present, two authority figures spitting questions out at you faster than you could answer, yelling at you, belittling you, you would get confused and say something you, didn't mean either.

There are many unanswered questions surrounding this questioning and how Djinn was treated during this questioning session.

Djinn stated flatly, that he was innocent, that he DID NOT start the fire, that he was forced into a fantasy line of questioning by the examiners and they created a fictitious statement, and he confessed to nothing.

Also according to the Fire Marshall-he stated at the trial that there was NO evidence of arson. "That the fire burned to hot and it was during a blinding snowstorm." The fire marshal also used accelerant sniffing dogs after the fire, none was found, yet they still claim that is how Djinn said the fire was started. An electrician was at the home less than two weeks before the fire and said that there were "severe" electrical problems and was "ripe for a fire." Djinn has been forced into the juvenile detention system for a crime he did not commit.

Djinn continued to state flatly that he did not start the fire, that his Public Defender, the Prosecution Psychiatrists forced him into pleaing.He was scared and felt intimidated, was told the only way he would ever get out of jail and prison was to plea, even though he wasn't guilty. We are talking about a then 13 year-old child, who didn't know what was happening, and was socially underdeveloped. Djinn's Public Defender didn't even believe in Djinn's innocence. How can a child receive a fair trial-or be given an opportunity when the deck is stacked against you so early in the ballgame.

Djinn should be given another day in court, there is much new evidence supporting his innocence and this evidence cries out to be heard! Djinn's case demands justice and it would be a step in the right direction to see one youngster caught up in the justice system and courts without complete justification, be set free. Djinn is a very special young man who is very special and full of emotion. Yes, Djinn had problems growing up, but what child didn't? You have to look at things close up to see things clearly, Djinn was on an astronomical amount of medications prescribed by doctors which effected his life and quality of life. Djinn also had a severe learning disability which affected his day to day life. Djinn's childhood was full of much disruption and pain. Children and Youth services put many obsticles in his path and made it harder for him to be at peace. The Police and Fire Marshal say a lonely boy the night of the fire, honed in on that, managed to isolate him from the family and manhandled a little boy into confessing to something he stated almost innediately afterwards he had nothing to do with.

That one event has cost Djinn a good portion of his childhood and young life (as of now three years). I will say this again and again, Djinn should be allowed to go back to court and be freed from the charges he is serving time for. If any child deserves that, it is Djinn.

It's very hard to have someone you care about deeply, incarcerated, your worried all the time, wondering if something bad will happen, or just if he's okay. I care a lot about Djinn, what he is going through and all the challenges he faces. I stand beside Djinn, I will fight with everything I have to help him in his situation, to tell everyone what happened and alert them so this will not happen to their child or grandchild. To give him back a piece of what he lost and continues to lose day by day-what's left of his childhood and most of all his self-respect and dignity. Djinn should be at home with his loved ones, he has never been able to grieve fully for Sierra and let this haunting past go, how can he when he is constantly reminded of it every single day while he is incarcerated and being treated for something he didn't truly do? The news media and some of the public have been especially cruel towards Djinn and the family in statements made, all this must stop and the TRUTH NEEDS TO BE TOLD! I will not stop until these things come to pass and Djinn can receive the peace in his life he should have.

Djinn, I will always be with you in spirit, you are always in my thoughts and prayers, I will always fight for you. I will always be there for you, no matter what. Someday soon this will pass. You will have your day, you will have your voice heard. Have Faith Djinn, and Be Strong!
