Thanks for taking the time, hope to see you in a field somewhere this summer. xx ltd edition artwork e.p. 'Friends and Family' only 5 left....and debut album from 2009 available on i-tunes spotify, bandcamp etc, at gigs, or in the shops (London or North West). London: Sisteray in Soho, Rough Trade shops. North: Cob Records Bangor and Porthmadog, or HMV Chester, Llandudno and Bangor ........................................................................................................................................................................................... SOME NICE THINGS PEOPLE HAVE SAID: ........................................................................................................................................................................................................... ADAM T WALTON, BBC RADIO WALES: 'I think the recordings have a great atmosphere to them and the songs are bright, soulful and full of integrity. I'll play more I'm sure.' .............................................................................................................................................................................................................. SNOWDONIA NIGHTS OUT FACEBOOK GROUP: gig review--Stacey Cohen ( guitar, keys, kazoo, vocals & other stuff, whatever she can get her hands on!) continually shows herself to be versatile, adaptive, inventive, creative, and above all, a great, intriguing and ever inventive songwriter & performer. I would draw comparisons but there aren't many or any I can think of. Certainly not from recent times. She has a great ear for innovative sounds & hypnotic music and you probably have to harp back to the 60/70's to liken, for not just the music but the self belief lyrically, to say what she thinks and feels in a song without maudlin. ................................................................................................................................................................................................................ THE PIONEER: ' a hypnotic medley of stunning folksy-blues, which really makes her stand out from the crowd….Often off-beat and quirky, occasionally haunting and poignant, Stacey Cohen's adherence to story-telling through music is sure to see her flourish' .................................................................................................................................................................................................................. THE ABSURD: From the totally hilarious 'Your Caravan', a tongue-in-cheek story of lust, thongs and saucepans, to the emotional conflict that engulfs the character in 'My Darling Love', Stacey Cohen tells stories with a deftness that many established artists still lack. 'Real Creature' is a loud, in-your-face-proud-to-be-female track that every woman should be singing from the rooftops, while the infectious 'Fine Times' is bound to be blasting from everybody's stereo. She shows her depth of character with the achingly beautiful 'Band of Water' that looks at the environmental impact of gold-mining, and 'Count this One' pulls at the heart with a haunting sound that you just can't escape. This first album from Stacey has pushed the benchmark high for other solo female artists. She's a talented musician who deserves to receive a wealth of acclaim for creating this engaging piece of work that stays with the listener long after the album's finished playing. The only thing that tops this is seeing Stacey perform - it's most definitely worth the effort to get out and see her live set!

    Hi Stacey,

If you're still looking for a bass guitarist, as well as being a photographer I've
been a bass player since I was young. I've played in many bands and many styles
of music, my influences are Jaco Pastorious, John Entwhistle, joni mitchell, some jazz, some world and some blues.

REVIEW

2009 ALBUM REVIEW BY THE ABSURD: 'From the totally hilarious ‘Your Caravan’, a tongue-in-cheek story of lust, thongs and saucepans, to the emotional conflict that engulfs the character in ‘My Darling Love’, Stacey Cohen tells stories with a deftness that many established artists still lack. ‘Real Creature’ is a loud, in-your-face-proud-to-be-female track that every woman should be singing from the rooftops, while the infectious ‘Fine Times’ is bound to be blasting from everybody’s stereo. QUOTES

SOPHIE MCKEAND (THE ABSURD) 'Singing live, Stacey has captivated audiences across the UK and beyond with intense, inspiring performances that effuse with love, intimacy and the energy of a woman who knows how to own the stage. Stacey’s vibrancy and spirit are engaging a fan base that is growing, guaranteeing a stunning show whenever she performs Stacey is continually pushing the boundaries of her writing both lyrically and musically to produce tracks that have to be listened to again and again!' ............................................................................................. CARL CHAMBERLAIN (PROMOTER) 'Stacey Cohen is a young woman without fear, full of zest and happiness. Last night her music was enhanced by Mike on Clarinet and her years up a mountain have given her something different to city based singer/songwriters. Folk, alternative, rap were there in her set, even a smattering of jazz, Stacey won’t be pigeonholed, unless excellent music is a hole for pigeons!' ........................................................................................................................................... THE PIONEER ( NEWSPAPER NORTH WALES) 'A hypnotic medley of stunning folksy-blues, which really makes her stand out from the crowd….Often off-beat and quirky, occasionally haunting and poignant, Stacey Cohen’s adherence to story-telling through music is sure to see her flourish’ ............................................................................................................................................. ADAM T WALTON, (PRESENTER BBC RADIO WALES) ‘I think the recordings have a great atmosphere to them and the songs are bright, soulful and full of integrity. I’ll play more I’m sure.’ ................................................................................................................................................ HARRY (7 BIT ARCADE) 'Inspiring acoustic rhythms and impassioned vocals, avant- garde folk with hints of bluegrass and country infused into something marvelous.' ............................................................................................................. ROGER HUGHES, (PROMOTER) 'Stacey Cohen (guitar, keys, kazoo, vocals & other stuff, whatever she can get her hands on!) continually shows herself to be versatile, adaptive, inventive, creative, and above all, a great, intriguing and ever inventive songwriter & performer.
