Stacey Steger is no stranger to the Texas music scene. More than a decade of live performances, recording projects, guest appearances, rigorous tour schedules, and industry work has solidified her as a musician that not only stands among the finest, but stands out.
Since her beginnings in the Houston region, Stacey has performed in many of Texas' most reputable live music venues including the Rhythm Room, Rudyard's, and Mucky Duck in Houston as well as Austin's Hard Rock Cafe, Momo's, Jonny Finns, The Pier and Saxon Pub, and Nacogdoches' historic Hotel Fredonia. She has been involved in the world-famous SXSW Festival in Austin on several occasions, and has opened for national acts such as Patrice Pike and Jimmy LaFave. She has also been featured on Houston's KPFT-FM 90.1, Lufkin's KJCS-FM 103.3, and on live television with the Austin Music Network.
Stacey's song, "Goodnight" (1999-Microdot Records), reached Number 1 on the GarageBand.com charts and was selected for use in a nation-wide film. (Stacey declined -- msg. for details!) Her 2004 release, "Surreal So Good", featured 12 orginal songs and some of the area's finest musicians, including producer Chris Rogers (Skillit, SlapShifter, Orange Is In), drummer Leesa Harrington-Squyres (Carolyn Wonderland, The Joint Chiefs), and bassist Jeff Balke (The Basics, Under The Sun).
In additon to her own creative endeavors, Stacey has worked extensively in the music business with the Val Denn booking agency (currently located in Austin), The Austin Chronicle, and as a booking agent and talent buyer with Red Parrot Productions and the Hotel Fredonia in Nacogdoches.
