The music you hear on my player are tunes from my debut album, "Hurricane," produced by Ronnie Cochran for RC Productions, engineered by John Nicholson, and recorded at Hilltop Recording Studios in Nashville, TN. Those musicians are Brent Mason, Aubrey Haynie, Rob Ickes, Joel Key, Jimmy Carter, Wayne Killius, Ron Block, and Alan Johnston with vocals from Chip Davis, Rodney Ingle, Jamie Dailey, and Darrin Vincent.
Part 1 of a series that I'm putting together to document my studio experience!
Part 2 of the series.
Part 3 of the series.
Part 4...The Outtakes
Influences
Dolly, Alison Krauss, Julie Lee, Waylon Jennings, Goose Creek Symphony, Ron Block...this list could get long and it's constantly growing. Mostly, though, my dad and his many musical tastes and talents.

You tell me. Hopefully, when it all boils down, I sound like me.

I suppose this section is where I'm supposed to convince everybody that I'm interesting and cool by telling you lots of interesting and cool things about myself.
I'm just a simple girl, not bound by the usual confines of the quote, unquote normal behavior (wait...I guess I could just use quotation marks there) that plague most people.
I like to talk in voices unlike my own. It adds texture to the conversation. I won't say that John Heder stole the Napoleon Dynamite voice from me, but I will say that I was using it long before there was a Napoleon Dynamite. It's similar to my transvestite voice, but like a dumb transvestite. I even said, "Gosh," a lot. So...again, I wasn't robbed, I don't reckon, since John Heder has never seen me before in his life, but I'm just saying.
I am a big fan of coffee - especially dark roast. It's probably the best ever (okay, I totally stole that from Napoleon Dynamite). I like it with the peppermint creamer you can only find around Christmastime. I just use fat free vanilla the rest of the year. Oh, except for fall when I use the pumpkin spice kind. Pumpkin is the best spice ever invented.
My first crush was on Kenny Rogers. Yes, he was older than dirt and I was like 5, but he was so cute. Maybe it's because he got to hang out with Dolly Parton. I'm crazy about Dolly like Jack McFarland was crazy about Cher...times ten, I mean. You have no excuse to not just be absolutely crazy in love with Dolly, so I don't want to hear it.
This is a My Space Music profile, so it's a given that I love music. Other than that, I also love coffee. Oh, I already went over that. And photography. I also love new pajamas and sundresses. And shoes. Oh, how I love shoes. My staple are my brown clogs with the little swirly-q's all over them. When I'm feeling extra fancy, I like to wear my high heeled boots. When I'm just a little bit fancy, I put on my heels. And on special occasions, I get out the cowboy boots.
I am a songwriter and love writing with my dad most of all. He and I make a pretty durn good team. I've been singing and writing for his band, Alan Johnston and South 52 for about 4 1/2 years. Most of my songs on my player are a product of that. In January, I'll be going into the studio all by my lonesome. Well, not ALL by my lonesome...My great friend and guidance counselor, Ronnie Cochran, has taken me under his wing and is going to produce the project. He's a little concerned about me because most of my songs involve someone dying, feeling like dying, or killing somebody. That's just the way I roll, baby.
By the way, I'm not going to make a statement about how this site isn't owned and operated by Stacy Grubb (that's me) and how your comments and messages are precious to her (me), but that she (I) just can't possibly find the time to respond. I will come clean, though, and admit that I (Stacy Grubb) am horrible at doing the whole comment and return of the message thing. I can't blame the demands of a promising singing career. The reasons are far less glamorous, yet more precious to me than gold. I'll try to make this a fun place to visit, though :).
So, have I convinced you, yet? Thought so. Oh, all that and I also roast the best turkey you'll ever eat. Ah Yes...I'm that good.
