DESCRIPTION of STADE :
STADE is a huge artistic concept based on the Duo of Pierre Autétat (piano-samplers ; Silent Majority, Piano Seven, LTJ Bukem, Nils Petter Molvaer, Feldman-Shepick, Sens Unik…) and Christophe Calpini (drums-sampler ; Silent Majority, Mobile, Alain Bashung). This international wide project makes a brand new electroacoustical sythesis which mixes jazz-avant-garde diversity, electronics’ efficiency and the straight energy of hip-hop music. During 3 years, STADE works on the assumption of extensible forms, wich enable the group to integrate the works and talents of 15 international guest-stars and of 10 swiss artists. (among others ; sollists, vj’s, fire uses, dancers, electroniciens, mecanicien ingenieurs). Up to now, the following guests have been confirmed : Erik Truffaz (FR ; tr), Elliott Sharp (NY ; gu, sx), Nils Petter Molvaer (NG ; tr), Grégoire Maret (NY ; ar), Wayne Paul (UK ; vocals ), Nya (CH ; vocals), Pascal Auberson (CH ; vocals, perc), Dj Sensay (CH, pl), Pierre-Ives Borgeaud (CH, visuals ; 1st price Locarno 03), Yodoc (CH; miniaturised zeplins with infra-red cams..), Lumen (CH ; fire uses). At the end, not less than five discs will be produced. This abnormal radical composit is one of the very rare group to be able to perform live electronics at the same time as acoustical music. The result is gorgius : it’s straight, heavy, powerfull and blasting. When added to high level live-visuals and interactive technology, the show is stricking.

I took care of the Théâtre-Onze experimental jazz club in Lausanne Switzerland from 1997 to 2000, have co-organised Lausanne Jazz Onze+ Festival and developped the Espace Jazz from 2001 to 2005, organised Groovic Lab's night (Dorfmeister-Tosca, Vadim, Plaid, Dj Food, Howie B, Psychonotes, Herbaliser etc.), dealt with some openings events, and recently developped STADE which is a organic musical concept based on the work of Pierre Audétat (alive samplers on keys) and Christophe Calpini (dr, electr on samplers, octopads) who perform and record with guests from the experimental jazz scene, the live electronic scene and the hip-hop scene. I organised many studio cession and live exclusive meetings with musiciens such as Nils Petter Molvaer, Erik Truffaz, Grégoire Maret, Pascal Auberson, Nya, Joy Frempong, Elliott Sharp, Gilles Aubry, Sir Inf'LIVEZ, Wayne Paul, Aurelius Calliste, Shlomo, Orifice Vulgatron, Dj Nonames, Dj Vadim, Goo, etc. I also do the booking in Switzerland for some projects and musiciens who are working in the same line. Now currently working as press officer of Montreux Jazz Festival.
PIERRE AUDETAT – (alive sampler, keys, composition) – select BIOGRAPHY :
The swiss pianist and composer Pierre Audétat is one european master of alive sampler. After his influancial role in PIANO SEVEN, Pierre founded the avant-garde jazz-rap band SILENT MAJORITY (1992-1996). GOLD PLATE with the album CHROMATIK of SENS UNIK, the most important swisship-hop group. He worked closely with LTJ Bukem, Mandrax, Erik Truffaz (first track on Erik's most sold Cd REVISTE; remix + also published on the Official Blue Note Remix Album), Rollercone, the Galactik Sound Lab, In the jazz-noisy-electronic avant-garde he performed with Trilok Gurtu, Mathieu Michel, Bovard, Robin Kenyatta, Niels Petter Molvaer, Léon Francioli, Mark Feldman & Brad Shepik (¨Iota Horology¨, Tadoo Rec, 2002). He released tracks on Five Recording (UK) Star, Shadow Rec (NY), Big Cheese (FR) et Ubiquity (USA), Galactik Sound Lab (UK), Free Zone (UK), Blue Note (FR, USA), Synchrovision (CH)… Pierre performed 5 TIMES AT MONTREUX JAZZ FESTIVAL IN, at Willisau Jazz Festival, Saalfinden, Mœurs… , in the most prestigious clubs of New York, London and Paris.
CHRIS CALPINI (sampler, drums, production) – select BIOGRAPHY :
Chris Calpini has been a Pionnier in the hip-hop and jungle scene in both Switzerland and Europe. He played during for years in the most prestigious clubs of Europe and NY. Among Others : Hot brass, Elysée Montmartre, Bataclan, Transmusicales de Rennes, printemps de Bourges, Festival Jazz de Perpignan, Festival Jazz d'Arezzo, Festival "Giant steps" (New York), Jazz café (Londre), Festival de Lubjana (Slovenie), Festival de Dakar... In 2002, Chris is engaged as the only guest-star of Erik Truffaz american Tour. He founded this same year the electro-jazz group Mobile in Motion whose first album is acclaimed by the international press. The famous french singer Alain Bashung chooses Chris to produce 6 tracks of his album « l’Imprudence » (collaboration with Marc Ribot ; NY), in 2003. Chris did collaborate with the following musiciens and groups : Silent Majority, Alain Bashung, Erik Truffaz, Lords of underground, Mathieu Michel, Bob Harrison, Carlos Baumann, John Wolloff, Sigfried (B.O. for french cinema) ...

Who I'd like to meet:
Anyone serious to dig in mixture between electroacousical sounds, concrete music, jazz and hip-hop. We are trying to find musiciens interested in these mixtures to do live recordings, concerts, studios cessions etc. We are searching good labels to put out this music.
