About staedler & waldorf

Staedler and Waldorf are a squelchy Welshy drum and breaks band with more styles than a Run Run Shaw flick. Rough in the jungle, the dancehall and the house, S&W growl from the stalls, making their name sake look like a rubbish salad and a biro that never works when you’re trying to write a ‘to do’ list. This is ‘music that fucks you on the dancefloor’ according to a post on their myspace. This is grimy, pulsating, eclectronica from the home of Clarke’s pies and Shirley Bassey. Paul Smith and Steve Jones have worked together on various projects for over 6 six years and started performing for pigs all around space with the equivalent eclecticism of a George Clinton hairdo. Recently signing to fair trade label Aardvark, and ready to face the impending Jim Henson lawsuit they ‘meld the auditory stimuli of pulsing break beats, dark synths, tribal rhythms and addictive vocals.’ So It’s time to start the music, its time to light the lights.
