   About Staff
"We spend more time in the company of strangers at work than we do with the people we love." I, Thalamus kingpin and former Divine Comedy member Grant Gordon links up with writer Leigh Money for a hardcore, sci fi SFX electronica feast concept album about WORK. The album follows white collar workers through a working day...Leigh's lyrcis, prose scraps, word collages and micro stories flow in and out of Grant's beats, soundscapes and cavalcades of samples and song fragments...Burroughs meets The Streets meets the Aphex Twin via the dark side of the moon... Most people work. Most of us have to. It’s how we live, how we survive. Yet most of us moan about it. Fantasise about winning the lottery, retiring early, enjoying endless days of sun, golf, lunch and Sky movies. And yet we are restless creatures, needing interaction, needing routine, needing the social contact of strangers. For if we don’t work, we might just implode… WORK is an album. A concept book. A multimedia experience. A union of spoken word and electronica. A homage to workers everywhere.

Big City Redneck

Aug 16 2008 8:25 AM

Please join the mailing list on our front page so that Myspace won’t delete us for sending you update messages. They are wankers.

August 21st , this Thursday, is a very special show at the Buffalo Bar with Cibelle / Serafina Steer and Horton Jupiter from They Came From The Stars (I Saw Them) Djing. Cibelle’s only other London date this year is at Bush Hall which is much more expewnsive than ours so this may well be the only time you get to see her in such an intimate venue.

Buy in advance here:

Plus have a look on our front page for updates on the new nights at the Luminaire (we’re rather excited) and have a look at the website www. bigcityredneck. co. uk for new interviews with Cindy Wilson of the B-52s, Mudhoney and Brute Chorus.
Looks out for new interviews with Don’t Letts and Health….

Who needs shit-smeared, vomit-strewn toilets, warm, expensive beers and all your stuff nicked when you can stay in London and enjoy these tasty treats?

TICKETS FOR ALL BIG CITY REDNECK EVENTS ARE AVAILABLE FROM WEGOTTICKETS. PLEASE FIND LINK ON OUR FRONT PAGE.
