We strive to honor our Gods and Goddesses by example, in word and deed following the Nine Noble Virtues, as adapted from the Eddas, before the Advent of Christianity - Courage, Truth, Honor, Fidelity, Discipline, Hospitality, Industriousness, Self-Reliance, and Perseverance. Some of our Gods and Goddesses are Odin, Freyja, Njord, Aegir, Ran, Frigga, Frey, Thor, Tyr, Idunna, Heimdall, Balder...We also honor the Landvaettir (landwights or land spirits) and the Disir and Alfar (our ancestors), with whom we develop close relationships, as do most indigenous groups.

I am Asatru and follow the ways of my Ancestors of long past. I am Danish by ancestry, American by birth. My Great Grandfather and Grandfather emmigrated to the US from Odense Denmark. I enjoy all kinds of crafting, woodworking, making mead, brewing ale, gardening, and when I had my horses, riding. I like to shoot my recurve and long bow when I get the chance, I work out at the gym and keep my body in good physical condition. I eat very healthy, but also enjoy the finer foods every now and then. Hey, youv'e got to indulge yourself from time to time, don't you??

As you know, we of the Asatru faith have many adherents in the Military, and have been working for some time for the right to place our symbol (The Mjolnir (or Thor's Hammer) on the graves of our fallen warriors. The Asatru Folk Assembly has put together a petition as part of our campaign. This is not a MySpace "Cause" or another online poll, but a legitimate petition which we aim to present to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
