We'll walk all over you attitude, loud guitars and memorable gigs.
Stalingrad Cowgirls is a punk/rock outfit hailing from a small town of Salla in Finnish Lapland, 60 kilometres north from the Arctic Circle. The three-piece was formed in 2005, and once they soon after left the rural surroundings and hit the road for the first time, they haven’t stopped since.
After leaving so many audiences around Finland hungry for more of their hot live action, a vigorous group of record company A&R reps began chasing the girls, who just kept on doing what they know the best - playing rock ‘n’ roll. The band boomed into headlines, and it soon became clear that there’s no turning back.
The girls, who are all just around 18 years old, finally signed a recording contract with Warner Music Finland in spring 2007. With a debut album in sight, Stalingrad Cowgirls entered the studio in June, while simultaneously travelling from a town to the next every weekend to give a show to remember.
The first album “Somewhere High” is now released in Finland, Sweden and Norway and it goes without saying that the band continues their uninterrupted spree of live shows to support the release.
Alongside their headline tour, Stalingrad Cowgirls have been supporting world class acts such as Iggy and the Stooges, Muse and Avril Lavigne on their European tours.
If you still think girls can’t rock out, Stalingrad Cowgirls are about to prove you’ve got it all wrong!
