The band STAMINA is the brainchild of young guitarist and songwriter Luca Sellitto. In June 2001 keyboardist Andrea Barone got a phone call from Luca, who was searching for musicians to form a band. So the two started rehearsing in Luca’s grandfather’s cellar for a few months… Then, they finally succeeded to find a bass player and a drummer. At the time the band was called Eternal Flames. After a lot of line-up changes in summer 2002 bassist Roberto Chiumiento and singer Giorgio Adamo joined the band and Luca decided to turn the band’s name into STAMINA and take another stylistic direction.
Since the beginning the band’s aim has been to create a very personal style combining influences from different kinds of music: rock, metal, funk, fusion, blues…So the band’s style can be defined as melodic hard-rock with some progressive-metal and fusion influences.
The band recorded the first demo “The demo songs” in February/March 2003, and the second one “Here to stay” in July 2004. Both demos gained stunning reviews on some Italian webzines and magazines and the band tried to spread its name playing live as much as possible in Festivals, pubs, bars and whatever! In March 2006 STAMINA opened the show for English metal band Biomecchanical at Duel Beat in Naples, receiving some good Live report reviews on different webzines.
Finally, in September 2006, the band entered the studio to record the debut full-lenght album “Permanent Damage”.
