"Standing on the shoulders of giants" (Latin: nanos gigantum humeris insidentes) is a Western metaphor meaning "One who develops future intellectual pursuits by understanding the research and works created by notable thinkers of the past."
The band Standing on the Shoulders of Giants was formed in 2007 originally as a hardcore band and after a few member changes the band developed into more of a "classic rock with a modern twist" sound. SOTSOG is comprised of founding members Jacob Taus,Alex Garibay and Christopher Foss,as well as former members of the band The Chemist vs. the Computer;Nick Raducha,Jimmy Wernes and the newest addition Tara Murphy. This band does not wish to classify itself under any specific genre but rather explore different options musically and have a kind of "no rules" attitude towards songwriting. Standing on the shoulders of giants' philosophy is simply "have fun" whether in music or in life,so we hope that you enjoy what you hear and we especially hope you "have fun" doing it. :]
