Born in 1977 , Stan grew up in a musical family . His mother started to teach him the piano when he was just five years old . At 8 , he went to the conservatory to study Classical percussions and drums in Chartres and St Germain en Laye. After graduation he decided to concentrate on the drums . Therefore , he moved to London to attend Drumtech , the great reknowned school where he studied with the finest teachers such as Francis Seriau , Paul Elliott , Laurie Jenkins ...
Returning to france he took jazz arranging and composition at the American School of Modern Music of Paris and finally he studied classical orchestration at la Schola Cantorum in order to revive his former classical background . His different musical styles and his mixed-race origins , Guadeloupe and European Eastern have been a great inspiration in his works .
As a composer , his wish to combine the drums with some classical elements made him develop his own way of playing the drums : soft but tight , melodic with a great range of dynamics .

....
Kurosawa is a musical collaboration between Paul Cartwright, Adam Spellicy and Karen Vogt. The result is a graceful collision of soaring, ethereal vocals and lushly atmospheric, infectiously melodic acoustic and electronic sounds.
