Music
Everything from rock to jazz to hip-hop to classical. If it's music that's well-done, I enjoy it, regardless of the genre.
This was from a 1997 concert we did at the Las Vegas Hilton. Simply sublime . . .

I'm a classically-trained French horn player in Las Vegas, and have worked here (and all over the world) for everyone from Metallica to Pavarotti...and several others in between!I have worked in several different fields in my life in Las Vegas over the past two decades, including a stint as Director of Public Relations for the Musicians Union of Las Vegas, and 10 years (between music gigs) as a back-office person for an opthalmic surgeon. (I have some sort of strange retention level for medical terms and the identification of prescription drugs as a result of that career move). By another strange twist of fate, I made a 10-year detour into the world of terrestrial radio....working as a morning show DJ at the same station for 9 of those years. It was fun (MOST of the time!) and I wouldn't trade those days for anything. But I'm happy to be back in the music scene, just finished working in the orchestra for "Monty Python's Spamalot" at Wynn Las Vegas, playing associate principal French horn with the Las Vegas Philharmonic, teachiing horn at UNLV, and freelancing wherever and whenever I can find the time and the venue! I have a side-business as a voice actor, and (yes, this is a totally shameless plug) here's where you can hear my demo:
My new Studio Center voice demo is up. Doesn't load up quickly, but here it is . . . http://studiocenter.com/voice-over-talent/Beth-Lano.aspx

"What we know is not much. What we don't know is enormous."
This is the first tune we played with Frankie KMoreno and Graham Russell (of Air Supply) last Saturday (4/4/09). WHAT AN INCREDIBLE NIGHT!!!! If you've never seen Frankie, you need to! Rush Lounge at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas . . . .checvk for times and availability!
Who I'd like to meet: I'm pretty much open to new friends. Unless you're psycho, in which case, please leave me alone. Most likely, I have already either dated, worked with, been married to or lived with you for an extended period of time. Thank you.
I have not been doing so good and I have a tendency to lay low during these times. But do know that I think about you and miss you very much! I hope you are well my friend.
it's been tough but like you, things are starting to look up. We took in a room mate & my son has been working at Encore, that helps a lot. Slow & steady I guess.
Christian Hell is apparently underground. Near the center of the Earth but not all the way to China. It's quite helpful since there is no oxygen in the planet's core so it helps extinguish the fires from that horned, hooved pyromaniac they all fear. You know, that guy who started heavy metal? See, that's also why Christians get wings when they are in Heaven. Everyone knows God decided to build heaven in the clouds. So they have to have wings to fly. Otherwise there would be dead Christians falling all over the place when it rains. :-P
