The unique upbeat ‘vaudeville punk’ sound of star27, led by 5 vocals and rock n roll piano, has been turning heads around the UK, and beyond, for the last 4 years. Never more so than in summer 2007 where the debut release of their ‘1, 2 begin now’ EP on Caroline True Records attracted reviews claiming star27 were;

Bukowski’s Secret, the lead track on the EP, was made Steve Lamacq’s BBC 6music ‘Single of the Week’ when it was released after listing the original demo in his Radio1 ‘In New Music We Trust: Top 10 Tracks of the 2006’ on his Christmas Day.
The band were then invited to record a 3 track BBC Radio 1 Session at Maida Vale, and a post EP release ‘New Favourite Band’ live interview on 6music, where star27 made history by being the first ever band to have two tracks played during the feature. Bukowski’s Secret and Soldier on Son, both from the EP. ??

star27 have also gained MTV exposure in 2007 after they were selected from the thousands of bands who played the 2006 Oxjam events to be filmed and interviewed by an MTV crew. Throughout last summer a profile of star27 received regular airtime on both MTV2 and MTV Hits. They were also included in a Zane Lowe hosted special show detailing MTV’s top ten bands from these profiles this summer.
At the end of 2007 Lamacq again put Bukowski’s Secret in his ‘In New Music we trust Top Ten of the Year’ making it two years running for the band to be featured in his end of year special show.
After 3 months in the rehearsal fine tuning new tracks star27 are back on stage from March 2008 and looking to make this the biggest year yet with plans to release singles throughout the year on the back of extensive gigging around the UK and beyond.
