Although redundant, I still have to put writing at the top. Reading, creating anything on the computer (I'm also a Photoshop artist) cooking...anything to do with lighthouses.
"A quiet coastal town with a stormy past tows the reader in from the very first page. Unresolved mysteries and a passionate romance keep the pages turning." –Molly Evans, author of The Surgeon's Proposal (Harlequin)
"Truly a wonderful read…ghosts…mystery…A truly heart touching story and one with an ending that will surprise. I truly enjoyed reading this story and the suspense kept me hooked to the very last page." –Coffee Time Reviews
"…a powerful tale of morality versus destiny…. With unerring passion and heart-pounding perfection, Ms. Carter weaves an intricate drama…truly captivating…" –Dawn Whitmire, author of Heart First
"Starfire by Anne Carter is almost scary. It takes a part of your own life, intermingles it with your dreams, and creates reality. I absolutely love her story. Pens raised to Anne Carter." –Romance Reviewer Brett Scott
"Imaging in your wildest dreams…Anne Carter captures the ultimate romantic fantasy, in Starfire. A touching story…fireworks…one emotionally charged, satisfying tale. Starfire is a must read for ALL romance lovers." –Susan R. Sweet, author of A Deadly Agent
Let's not forget the L.A. Kings! Okay, they are in a correctional year, it won't last, just wait, you'll see... HOCKEY IS KING(S)! Yeah, that was lame.
Classic rock. CSN&Y; Doobie Bros; TOTO! Eagles; Jackson Browne! The late Dan Fogelberg; Today's music? Four For Fighting; Rob Thomas; John Mayer; Ed McCain; George Michael; PHANTOM OF THE OPERA!
Too many! LOTR * Pirates and anything with Johnny Depp * GWTW * anything really classic * romantic, 3 hanky films * Harrison Ford * All the Star Wars stuff * Somewhere in Time; King Kong * Parenthood * Planes, Trains & Automobiles * just about all Steve Martin films, including A Simple Twist of Fate * Can't forget PHANTOM OF THE OPERA! * Steel Magnolias * Tombstone * Double Jeopardy
Currently, LOST, Grey's Anatomy. Stargate SG-1 (although I really miss Richard Dean Anderson -- was a big MacGyver nut!) Anything on Discovery. Food Network Challenge. Mythbusters. Jeopardy, sometimes. HOCKEY - GO KINGS!! ~NEVER WATCH THE NEWS~
My own, of course. Nora Roberts is the best romance author. Stephen King for horror. Stories about lighthouses.

Hey all,
They say writing is a lonely profession -- unless your characters keep you company.
Been writing romance stories since middle school, and see no end in sight. I live in sunny So Cal, hate cold weather, love to drive through the canyons with the top down. I'm a movie nut, especially for big stories, epic films, fantasy, romance, sci-fi, etc.
Yes, I'm married, have three incredibly smart, beautiful children (of course,) and last year I finally traded my gorgeous but problematic BMW for a gorgeous and practical Toyota Highlander Hybrid. Doesn't that just sound like an L.A. yuppie?
First and foremost, my readers, of course!
Let there be Lighthouses!

Amy Winslow isn't looking for a mystery; she doesn't even like secrets. In fact, secrets have nearly destroyed her life. So, when a terrible accident forces her to take control of her brother's mysterious California lighthouse, Amy finds herself immersed in its shocking past and uncertain future. Enchanted by the mystery, she refuses to rest until she finds out who died in the aging white beacon, and why.
Case McKenna hasn't quite reconciled his own painful history when he sails his crippled boat into Newburg Harbor, intending to stay only long enough to make repairs. His plans change when he becomes entangled with a local couple intent on restoring a long-shuttered lighthouse. Despite an overwhelming urge to flee, Case follows intrigue and passion, as he, too, finds himself drawn in by Point Surrender...

As a winter present for everyone, I'm offering a free novella on my website.
A Happily Ever After of Her Own
Melinda Lightfoot, a preschool teacher with an unusual ability to flit in and out of fairy tales, never thought she would get into trouble...
...until the Fairy Tale Police arrest her while she is in Beauty and the Beast. They offer her a deal: Find Beauty, who left the story when Melinda trespassed into it, or be charged with the ultimate crime -- Fairy Tale Killer. If that's not bad enough the Beast tags along in search of his true love, and Melinda starts falling for the fairy tale prince. She must choose between doing the right thing and having her own happily ever after.
