....Stark Naked and The Fleshtones, legendary Canadian punk band continue to promote the release of a new album rare live/studio tracks in 2012
Original Toronto punk new wave rockers perform on Saturday January 14 at The Bovine Sex Club in downtown Toronto to promote the release of an album of work featuring previously unavailable rare live tracks and studio cuts.
The very best of the Stark Naked repertoire is represented on this self-titled album of work including “I Was A Teenage Stockbroker”, “I Wanna Marry Your Mother”, “Surfin Simcoe Style”, “Fast Cars”, “Ugly Girls” and “I Broke Her Heart (She Broke My Arm) “
“This album represents some unfinished business,” says guitarist Eugene Ripper. “Although we were one of the top live acts on the scene back in the original days (1979-1984), the band never released a proper album of material before we broke up - just bootleg cassettes and the odd video clip. The fact that this collection represents the authentic live experience – both from the stage and the studio is appropriate and kinda cool. It truly represents what made (and still makes) the group one of the best new wave punks bands Canada.”
The group, features the irrepressible Stark Naked, guitarist Eugene Ripper and new members Ray Walsh on bass and Paul Newman (No Mind, Doughboys) on drums. Heavily inspired by the Ramones, The Sex Pistols and Teenage Head, the group’s driving garage rock sound, memorable live energy, off the wall humour and satirical world view remains unaffected, original and authentic and, worth noting…very much alive.
