About me:
NEXT STARLIGHT CAFE IS SEPTEMBER 29TH.
Starlight Cafe is an occasional arts and music night put on at the Dallas Baha'i Center at 9400 Plano Rd. in Dallas. Our goal is to promote the arts for beginning and experienced performers as well as provide our guests with a venue that's free of cover charges, smoke clouds, and spilled alcohol.
Refreshments are provided and the night always starts at 7:30 p.m. Experienced MCs will introduce the act, and the crowd is always attentive and kind to the performers and artists.
Although we cannot pay our performers at this time, you are free to bring your CD, artwork or anything else you wish to sell as it's related to your performance.
Venue description: The Dallas Baha'i Center houses a multi-purpose hall that seats over 100 people. There is no stage so performers should expect to really be part of the crowd. We have a PA system, CD/DVD player with screen, and an area off stage to display art/CDs for sale, etc. We can bring in a projector if given sufficient notice. An adjacent room serves as the ready room and yet another hall is used for serving the free coffee and refreshments.

Who I'd like to meet:
We are looking for experienced or beginning artists in the following areas:
1. Musicians - any style, but keep it clean, if you can't keep it clean, then just scream in such a way where we can't understand the lyrics.
2. Poets - any style, but no cussin', but if you must cuss, then try reciting poetry in an obscure foreign language (e.g., Latin, Zulu, Klingon)
3. Dancing - any cultural dances are prefered, just keep in mind that we cannot allow you to dance if you need a pole on stage.
4. Fine Arts - any style, but keep it clean, you know, don't draw any pictures of trashcans, smokestacks, and little dirty babies.
