WANT TO WISH EVERY A SAFE & HAPPY SUMMER!!!! I AM.... Star Nayea. I am a national/international singer/songwriter/Native indigenous youth prevention & wellness facilitator.

I recently took home a 2008 NAMA award in October of 08 for "Song writer of the year". It meant a lot to me, in terms of validating the work I do with Native Indigenous youth. When I was their age life for me sucked!! plain & simple..Singing and writing songs TRULY saved my life..I pride myself on bring these kids healing through music!! For this generation of youth are very vocal..They just need outlets!! today! Besides being a single Mother to my beautiful son, and singing on stage anywhere that will have me.. Inspiring and teaching youth how to express themselves through music IS MY MISSION IN LIFE!! Regardless if they want to do it for a living or not..IT IS A HEALTHY FORM OF RELEASE.. A form of communication where there IS none!

I should know.. These youth today, in so many ways bare mirror image of myself back then.. Sadly some are or have been extremely abused as I was, or neglected. Or they being shipped from home to home because of alcohol problems that exist in the adults who are supposed to be taking care of them.. Some youth today are feeling so lost, some are searching desperately for the wrong kind of attention..Some dont want attention any more...They just want to leave this life..IM DESPERATELY REACHING OUT TO LET THEM KNOW ITS GUNNA BE ALL RIGHT! Nothing is worth losing your life!!

I want to lift them and help them down from that ledge, to show them UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! Show them how to better communicate what, and how they feel they cannot speak of. In my opinion and from my own experience.. What better way then to do so, through song writing or poetry...Im not a perfect person, or a perfect Mother.. I, like every human being am full of flaws..However I PRAY every morning to be guided in a better way! I have made and will make mistakes along the way.. Better to grow from these mistakes than to claim perfection... However one mistake I pray to never make is to become like that adopted family who attempted raised me with nothing but hatred.. ABUSIVELY..I PRAY TO NEVER abuse or neglect my own son...I will do everything humanly possible to make a difference out there! All while learning myself as I continue to lead my sober lifestyle how to be a good Mother, sister, friend, mentor, teacher, maybe one day a wife.. MOST OF ALL, TO BE A GOOD HUMAN BEING. Sacrifice is a given, however retaining your human integrity, compassion within that daily sacrifice is the key...So I will go forward with High hopes in 2009..I PRAY FOR ALL MY RELATIONS!!! AHO!
