I was born in Decatur, G.A., a city less than 20 miles from the capital, Atlanta. I was heavily influenced by the few female rap artists with the invasion of hip-hop back in the 80's. My 1st writing experience became an addiction that would ultimately start a career in song & script writing. In the late 90's, I teamed up with various independent artists in which I went by the name of Da Southern Ms. After changing my alias, I, Starr Jamezz featured on Silk's album, "Take Control." At the end of 2004, I self-released “Da Kandi Ladi” album which was a great introduction to my solo recording music artist career. Currently, I am working in my home recording studio... this way I can have a little bit more control of my destiny. I don't have to worry about sensitive, soft individuals with petty and punkish ways. I have pro tools program, mpc 2000xl, array of top notch sound modules, an AKG mic, 12 track Mackie mixing board, and a coalition of studio engineers, and producers willing to get the job done. I am co-owner/artist of Broadz Way Entertainment and will be one of the artist that will duely change the "ears" of hip hop to be more tolerant to female creators. I do voice-overs, co-write children books, and have plenty of ideas! If you are in an executive or managerial position of the industry please feel free to contact me and be ready to talk "action!"
