Sounds Like
"Super-pretty sunshine pop" - SoundsXP
"Perfect in every respect. Stars Of Aviation are indie heroes and heroines in waiting. 12/13" - RoomThirteen
"A beguiling and stylish pop moment. 4/5" - The Sun
"Beautiful Francophile lounge pop. ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’ , is a wonderfully frail little folk pop tune which brings to mind The Pines at their spine-chilling best. – Tasty Fanzine
"You could listen to this over and over, learning nothing but feeling fantastic. 8/10" - Drowned in Sound
"It's just blooming lovely gear with accordion & trumpet, utterly timeless & simple without being twee. Real soul soothing music" - Norman Records
"In an ideal world their four track ‘Snow On Snow’ EP would be blaring loudly from every bedroom window the land over." - Tangents
"Carol sounds like Grandaddy used to, only British, and inspired by June and poetry, not dunes and peyote. It is gorgeous." - Careless Talk Costs Lives
We are Stars of Aviation, a pop group from Brighton and London. We started playing together in 2000 when we met at university Russian class. Since then we have grown in number to seven, eight and sometimes nine, and we play pop music with trumpet, guitars, drums, accordion, violin, keyboards and bassoon.
Our most recent single, Marie et l'accordeon, was released on Kitchen Records on 21st August 2006. It's been described as "a slice of escapist wonder" by MusicOMH.com and "a stylish and beguiling a moment" by The Sun! And remember, it's the Sun wot won it.
You can buy our music at most record shops (although you'll need them to order it in), and online at Norman Records and Rough Trade. Or you can buy it directly from us by sending us a myspace message or paying with a credit/debit card through Paypal using the buttons below.
