The 2nd annual Stars of Tomorrow Youth Talent Explosion is Detroit’s premiere youth talent showcase where performers will vie for cash and in-kind prizes in a competition that highlights talent in the artistic genres of vocal, rap, musical instrument, drama, dance, spoken word and comedy!
All metropolitan Detroit youth between the ages of 9 to 18 wishing to compete for cash prizes are encouraged to enter the Stars of Tomorrow Talent Explosion. Participants are divided into two age groups: 9-12; and 13-18, following auditions.
There are two 1st place winners (one for each age group) with prizes including $500 each, free legal consultation with entertainment attorney, and one studio session; and two runner up prizes of $250.
The 2nd Annual Stars of Tomorrow Talent Explosion will take place at the New St. Mark Family Life Center, located at 24331 W. Eight Mile Road, Detroit, MI 48219.
A panel of entertainment professionals and celebrities will serve as judges for the competition. Past judges and MC include: HBO Def Poet Jessica Care Moore; BET Comic View alumni and 105.9 KISS FM radio personality Shanie D; entertainment publicist Trea Davenport; contemporary jazz recording artist Lin Rountree; HOT 102.7 FM on-air host, Smiley; and Comedy Central and CBS network’s comedian Horace Sanders.
All proceeds of the Stars of Tomorrow Talent Explosion will benefit the youth-focused initiatives of Abayomi Community Development Corporation (“ACDC”), which has been providing youth programming to the far Northwest Detroit community for over nine years. ACDC, a faith-based, 501(c) (3) organization boasts its mission to strengthen and secure families and their neighbors through comprehensive community building.
A VIP Reception will be held for all event sponsors & invitees prior to the performances and gracious sponsor acknowledgments will be made throughout the show!
