The Stars Original was born from a burning desire to bring a new danceable sound to the current salsa/pop scene in the Bay Area. The Stars Original doesn’t believe in the concept of an “Old School” or a “New School” musical approach. Stars Original only believes in the “Good School”.
The goal of The Stars Original is to perform a full and expansive repertoire on a scale from the most traditional salsa tunes to the most advanced modern ballroom rhythms.
It is The Stars Original commitment to bring to the audience a sound that is fun and danceable, with top quality musicians and a strong musical presence . Each band member is well respected in the music community and has a wide knowledge and experience in performance. The Stars Original is lead by the very talented arranger and composer Christian Tumalan who is responsible for making the band sound fresh and unique.
In other words, listening to the sounds of Stars Original will make your body shake and grove more than ever; simply you’ll have a blast.
Stars Original also has ocassional guest artists, either local or international. Having these regular guest artists brings more flavor and variety to the stage. Artists such as world renown percussion player Karl Perazzo (current Carlos Santana line up), Grammy nominee Doug Beavers (Current Eddie Palmieri’s Band) and Eric Crystal (current Omar Sosa line-up), among many others.
