About Start From Scratch Records - KING LY CHEE ON TOUR!
Start From Scratch Records has been in action since 2006 with the sole purpose to give some of our heavier Hong Kong-based bands a chance to perform and get some exposure.
Many don't know this but Start From Scratch, the entity, has actually been in action since 1999 as a zine, mailorder and show organizer (promoter). It was started by Riz of King Ly Chee as part of the kick-in-the-ass Hong Kong's music scene needed back then. Since then both King Ly Chee and Start From Scratch have always been active in creating a scene here working together with metal, punk, hardcore, and indie rock bands put on shows, release music, interviews, and other types of exposure.
Riz and King Ly Chee teamed with their closest friends in the Hong Kong underground scene Shepherds the Weak and in 2006 began putting on shows for the past few years for bands such as: Himsa, Comeback Kid, Horse the Band, Intolerant, Terror, Misery Signals, Typecast, Parkway Drive, Brain Failure, Reflector, and many many others.
2010 we're launching probably one of the most exciting years. We are hoping to release new albums from Shepherds the Weak as well as King Ly Chee!
