About Start From Scratch Records -Hong Kong record label
Start From Scratch Records has been in action since 2006 with the sole purpose to give some of our heavier Hong Kong-based bands a chance to perform and get some exposure.
Many don't know this but Start From Scratch the entity has actually been in action since 1999 as a zine and mailorder. It was started by Riz of King Ly Chee as part of the kick-in-the-ass Hong Kong's music scene needed back then. Since then both King Ly Chee and Start From Scratch have always been active in creating a scene here working together with metal, punk, hardcore, and indie rock bands put on shows, release music, interviews, and other types of exposure.
Riz, under the Start From Scratch and King Ly Chee names, has also organized shows for various world famous metal or hardcore bands. To name a few: Himsa, Comeback Kid, Horse the Band, Intolerant, Conquest for Death, Brain Failure, Reflector, and many many others.
2009 we're launching probably one of the most exciting years. We are hoping to release new albums from Shepherds the Weak as well as King Ly Chee!
We're also continuing our incredible events with a bang in 2009 with Parkway Drive playing LIVE in Hong Kong!
We hope to see you supporting us in the many years to come!
