The Starway Biography
Starway had its beginning in the winter of 2006. Wes Lee ‘K’, steadily began to write songs he felt would sound good, whether played solo or in a band situation. Gradually, the band concept began to take form: Wes and Randy DeBord, reunited as friends and band-mates, having spent some time in different pursuits. The two guitarists/vocalists started to further work out the songs Wes was writing.
By the winter of 2007, bassist, Scott Christman, another previous band-mate of Wes, came into the picture. By now, a different blend of melodic vocals with a dynamic musical edge was blooming. Influences from bands like Creed, Bon Jovi, Fireflight, Sonic Flood, and let’s not forget – Van Halen and Dokken – shown through. A combination of Christian Rock with crossover appeal.
Enter Toby – (a.k.a. Kerry) Knippen – yet, another previous band-mate of Wes. When Toby listened to his voicemail he recognized the voice – the voice with that noticeable Chicago accent – it’s Wes!
Toby, actually, was called to take the place of original Starway drummer, Lem Pablo. Toby is a fun guy to work with, very amiable and a versatile musician.
Anyway, while Lem was unable to make a long term commitment to the band, he remained a friend and an asset to the band. He even played synthesizer on the song “My Heart Calls Out”, for Starway’s first CD (projected for completion early 2008).
And along came Jendale – what a fun name to say! Wes introduced himself after hearing Jennifer Dale play with the Bartlett Baptist worship team. He could tell she would fit in style-wise, after hearing her classically trained fingers, a conveyed sense of originality, and a sometimes subtle Evanescence-like ability for phrasing on piano.

TIME IS NAND OW TO EXAMINE OUR HEARTS, MIND AND SOUL AND REPENT TO ALL WHO HAVE WRONG US OR HAVE WRONG THEM OR WHATEVER IT MAY BE..
