heavily on the decadence and brilliance of 70's rock, Starwoods unique sound is
a strong blend of musical influences with everything from punk, pop, and metal, to rock n roll. Their style is all
about simple, hard driving, catchy rock n roll songs with swagger and attitude.
70s style Kiss meets blues driven Aerosmith matched with the retro glam rock sleaze of T-Rex, Guns n Roses, and
Cheap Trick. Starwood reaches back and twists these pop metal journeys into the
familiar mold of new rockers such as The Darkness, Velvet Revolver, and Jet. Starwoods
brand of rock n roll is a driving force emitting the influences of many
genres.
Starwood features vocalist and guitarist Lizzy, drummer Joey Scott, bassist
Marten Andersson and guitarist Joe Steals. The band derived their name from the
defunct Hollywood rock club, The Starwood, where every style of music found a
home. The bands primary goal is to emulate that feeling with the songs on
their debut record, aptly titled If It Aint Broke, Break It!
Starwood's live show is even more impressive,
involving the audience with each power chord and every shout it out loud
chorus. The energy and fire radiating from this band just might be unsurpassed
in todays mainstream music scene. They don't just play on the stage, they own
it!
