Statas - Despariia / Syphilis Unbound - No Room for Talent 702 - 7 - $5.00 The second release in the Galactic Ass Dragon Classic Battle 7" series features the sounds of the current reigning champion - Statas. A newcomer to wax, Statas has been a long time collaborator in Philadelphia's 215Noise crew, involved with both visual and audio techno futurist projects as Nodal Terror. This new endeavor sees Statas fusing elements of bleak late 90s tech-step with heavy spasmic sounds reminiscent of early venetian snares. Hyper cut up breakcore full of chunky synths dark melodies and intelligent structures. Think technical itch meets xanopticon.
from "storming the base"
Hyper cut up breakcore meshed with chunky synths, eerie samples and heavy bass makes up the debut release by this notorious act out of Philadelphia PA. He accomplishes one of the hardest aspects of this scene and that is not relying heavily on any one of these aspects to pull the song along. He turns and morphs all of them into a fine example of well done dance inducing breakcore. Imagine a new twist to old style Praxis/Zhark style. This is essential for fans of Abelcain, Xanopticon, Dev/null and Blearg.
From the space between the stars, the forgotten gaps between dimensions, STATAS channels the sound of the spheres into hypermashed future-core. Splintered jungle breaks and harsh electronic psionics collide into non-euclidean states of consciousness, altered by epilepsy-inducing audio/visual thaumaturgy.
In this corporeal desmesne, STATAS is based in Philadelphia, PA. STATAS is hoping to implode the space-time continuum in an area near you soon.
"Ever watch a 60’s movie set in the future? The kind where the sets are stark white with oddly shaped chairs in bright colors that don’t look the least bit comfortable, where the cars fly but are roughly the size of pontoons, where people get their meals by speaking into little boxes and out pops a plate with a small, unnaturally colored cube on it? Yes, it all looks futuristic and ultra-modern but it still, without a doubt, is stamped with the impression of an era long past – and it’s still really cool.
BLÆRG’s latest release, a 3" CD by the name of “Auspices and Vagaries” is the perfect score to a meal of Soylent Orange or for a drink at the milk bar. It stirs together bits of futuristic rhythms, strains of jazzy flavor and a splash of retro flair into a wonderful little breakcore appetizer that leaves the palate whetted and the appetite craving more.
This 3" CD-R is hand printed and assembled, and comes with an “Auspices and Vagaries” vinyl sticker. This album is strictly limited to 50 copies. Album can also be downloaded for free in 128kbps MP3 format. This could be the last BLÆRG album for a long time. "
"Over the last few decades Detroit has established a reputation for producing some of the most unique, enduring and intelligent electronic music on the planet. Void Tactical Media's provocative first offering takes any pre-conceived notions one may have regarding MotorCity techno and spins them around at 33.3rpm. Split Horizon and Jstat have each combined elements of noise, electro and broken beats to generate music that is a radical departure from the Detroit legacy, but couldn't have come from anywhere else. The four tracks on the record have been honed and refined during countless live performances over the last year, and are served up in final mixes that are versatile enough to be reworked by capable DJs - yet strong enough to stand on their own. This 12" vinyl comes in a hand printed sleeve, screened by From the Gut.
