About Me:
I'm originally from New London Connecticut, where there is a pretty lively local music and arts scene. My father is a jazz pianist and my mother is a librarian. I'm in a band as well (www.myspace.com/ringers). Basically I'm into all sorts of different music, hard and soft, spiky and smooth.
I'm also the new music journalist at the Staten Island Advance Newspaper, hired to write about music on the Island and beyond. The Advance is a daily newspaper with a circulation of 100,000. If you are a band from the Island, South Brooklyn, or really anywhere in NYC, I invite you to contact me so we can be "friends," talk about music or whatever else we please. I'm happy to list your shows on my page, play your music on my song list, and try and get the word out about your band, in the paper and on myspace. Post comments on my blog or I'll get fired:

Check the flow.TerribleTim uploaded this to Youtube and TerribleTim noticed that the playback on the video was way way too slow.TerribleTim also observed that the "Dog and pony" people were having the same problem. Anyway, TerribleTim dipped into his blip.tv account and now the Rich Russo video moves along much better at a quicker speed, although still not quite like we would all want it to be. It is however groovy that you can add in your own thumbnail.
Yall come down to the Rich Russo 101.9 fm rxp radio rock concerts at Dock street.Saturday May 9th 9 pm. Big names are on the bill this week, check the thumbnail on the video. The store in Hylan Plaza was called "Our Music Center". I was in there at least once a week back in the 80's. Another good one was "Record Baron" on Forest Ave. At one time there were 3 record stores in the mall (Musicland, Sam Goody & I don't remember the other name). Unfortunately I don't know of any stores now.
