Well, State Of Flux is me and vice versa. But who am I? Well, my mates call me Sambo, my parents call me Sam, people who don't know me call me "him" or "that bloke over there". Or more usually, "that bloke spinning those things around", cause I do quite a lot of poi spinning, usually in inappropriate places, espcially when there's fire involved.
So by now you've probably heard a bit of one of my songs and twigged that I write a bit of chilled out, slightly trippy but wistfully melodic trance occasionally. At least, I like to think I do. Funny that, cause I grew up listening to metal (METAAAL), and still listen to it loads. I've even got a really spiky guitar, and one of these days I'll stick a fat metal riff into a trance choon, when I get around to buying a new amp anyway. Biggest musical influence is Ozric Tentacles, who are pretty much a one band bridge between rock and electronica. I love atmospheric and progressive music, and strive for those qualities in my own compositions.
So techy stuff: I use Propellerheads Reason v3, because basically, it's the mutts nuts. I like to sample from my dads folk collection and muck up the samples with vocoding and the like, and you may even detect a hint of the folk influence creeping in to some of the more obscure melody lines. Hope you enjoy my choons!

Was hoping to be at Spitz tonight but I'm still suffering from man-flu and next week I'm doing a play but will be up there again soon. Easy now!
