Absolutely nobody but ourselves. You hear bands say they sound like no one else. Then you find out they do. In our case you ask 100 fans and you get a 100 different opinions. So either we sound a little like everyone in the history of music or we sound unique. So its your opinion to what we sound like and we would love to hear it. We play what we feel and we believe when you hear our CD you get a unorthodox variety of our sound and input. We do not have the so called BAKERSFIELD SOUND that many bands here have. We have the SOI sound and we play and write only for ourselves and our FANS!!! If you dont like it or like us we dont give a FUCK!!!..................
State of Insomnia was formed in 2000 in Bakersfield, California. Since day one they have remained intensely committed to their ultimate objective, which is to enthrall and captivate fans with an unforgettable, in-your-face live performance. Their determination and dedication to the perfection of their craft and their diehard loyalty to their fans has always set them apart from the rest. They have dominated in numerous local Battle of the Bands, which has acquired a substantial amount of media attention and radio airplay. State of Insomnia has had the opportunity to open for various live acts including: STATIC-X, POWERMAN 5000, 30 SECONDS TO MARS, IN THIS MOMENT, KOTTONMOUTH KINGS, SOIL, HED P.E. and ADEMA just to name a few. This of course, caught the attention of LA Lloyd and led to the band being featured on LA Lloyd’s Rock 30 Pod cast in 2007. The band’s mission is to inspire attraction and draw attention through their hard driving music and eerie imagery. The band’s new CD, “The Resurrection”, mastered by the renowned Tom Baker, captures the unique sound and mysterious aura of the band. With thousands of copies sold and thousands of dollars in merchandise sales, it is obvious that fans are intrigued and anxious to unwrap the mystery of State of Insomnia. With overwhelming response and turnout on the Midwestern “No Sleep Tour 2008” and being featured on the compilation CD of the November/December issue of Metal Edge magazine, their fan base is ever growing and their popularity increases on a seemingly daily basis to include fans all over the US and even the world.
