About me: State Theatre Company of South Australia is the state's flagship professional theatre company. In 2008, the Company continues its long tradition of fabulous theatre with a smorgasbord of theatrical delights which includes rib-tickling crowd pleasers, two world premieres by South Australian playwrights, a classic that shocked and affronted audiences more than a century ago, and one of the most original theatre experiences of modern times.
2008 promises to be a great year of theatre, and we’d love for you to come and spend the night with us. Season 2008 is filled with theatrical events that will move, inspire and above all, entertain you.
COMING UP:
Blue/Orange by Joe Penhall
A tough, funny and utterly absorbing play which has been described as a theatrical cross between a medical examination and a boxing match. Joe Penhall’s provocative, edgy comedy examines the unspoken politics of institutions, challenges assumptions about ‘normality’ and questions whether sanity is dependent on the colour of your skin. 4-26 July at the Dunstan Playhouse
I saw The Female of the Species and loved it so much I went to see it again. One of the best plays so far in a long while. Blue/Orange looks interesting as well and I hope to see it before the season ends.
He fuses classical with everything. Very interesting. He says of himself... 'I became more and more like a child. Passion, light, shadows, homesickness, irrational joy…then... 3 years ago, I stumbled across J.M. Barrie’s ‘Peter Pan’ and it became clear; I would write a musical drama piece. Much of the music and much of the text (by the Austrian theatre author Fritz Schindlecker) has already been written now and the work will premiere in Vienna in 2009.'

Hi STC of SA, Loved 'Triple Threat'as a whole, yet individually, 'Central Park West' was the best. 'Hot Fudge' was a riot and I found 'Talk To Me Like The Rain...' unusual. Thanks for the excellent theatre experience... looking forward to seeing your next production. Cheers!
Triple Threat was fantastic! Central Park West was hilarious! But Hot Fudge was nothing short of brilliant...I loved it and the set and space was amazing! State Theatre has done it again! xx
Hi STC, I saw 'Little Women' and enjoyed it. My friends were lukewarm about the production, as it was very modern and they are so accustomed to the traditional operas. I have to agree with them that 'Little Women' wss more of an operetta or musical as it has dialogue throughout. Knowing some of the cast members and the story lines/characters made it more interesting to see it performed live. Keep up the great work!
Hi STC, I heard some very attractive and talented 'Little Women' are arriving in Adelaide next month. You'll be presenting them to Adelaide audiences as well.. that's exciting!
