Talking Heads, David Bowie, the New Pornographers, the Velvet Underground, Tool (yes, there was some of that in there), R.E.M., the Tubes, the Police, the Ramones, and 20+ years of listening to all kinds of rock and roll.
Static Fugue came and went in Seattle in 2001, spending more time in the studio than on stage. The core of the band was frontman Chris Winters writing the songs, singing and playing guitar and Rene Garcia on drums, with a rotating cast of bassists and guitarists. The music on this page is from their second four-song demo, with Michael Anderson playing bass (thanks Mike!) It hasn't been remastered, there are glitches in a few of the tracks, and there aren't many copies out there, although the song "Just Like That" was included on the Humble Rocks Northwest Music Sampler compilation CD. The band's first five-song demo was a bit rougher around the edges, but those tracks won't be posted here.
Chris can now be heard at www.myspace.com/ghosthoodie.
