   About Statii Album
Statii n. pl. /stætai / a collection of instruments,
mainly basses, made by Status.

The Statii forum online is a place for players of Status basses; custom, made to order guitars, crafted by the famous luthier Rob Green and team in his Colchester workshops in the UK. The basses are widely considered to be some of the finest examples of modern instruments around… with stunning, innovative designs, excellent electronics and, most notably, graphite necks. Played by whole host of celebrity players including Tony Levin, Mark King, Guy Pratt and Pino Palladino, to name but a few, Status is a name synonymous with quality and artistry.

Midway through 2008, a competition was launched on the Statii forum, calling for members to submit a track that showed off their respective basses and playing skills. The rules were simple; the submitted track must contain at least one Status bass. Any style of music was welcome.

Judging these submissions was by way of forum member votes. The eight tracks that received the highest number of votes were to be mastered for an album, due for release in the early part of 2009.

The quality of entries was so high that the number of tracks chosen for the final album was increased to eleven… and there is an extra track too, a tribute to Don Prince's sister.

The title of this album is “What's Your Status?” If you like what you hear in the media player above, please lend us your support and buy it! It's available via the Statii forum… the link is on the left-hand side next to ‘Band Website' or from CD Baby. All proceeds from the album will be donated to Cancer Research.

Enjoy… and cheers!

The Statii forum members.

Here's what Mark King had to say about this album:

“Eclectic, Electric, on Fretted and Fretless, there are some cracking ideas here lads, and all played on our beloved Status basses. Keep it up brothers.”
