Bio
Beginning as a solo project for singer/songwriter Bobby Bradford, Statue of Liberty grew into an acoustic folk rock duo with the addition of Marywood Kate. After recording a demo together in the summer of 2007 the pair discovered a unique musical bond. They continued to write new material over the next three years and in July of 2010 began recording their debut release, The Up State. Working with producer Scott Miller, bassist Ry Dill and drummer Jimmy Finelli, Bradford and Kate spent time at the Institute of Production and Recording in Minneapolis, MN. Upon completion of recording the duo relocated to Des Moines, IA and spent the next year developing their live show while playing acoustic venues throughout the Midwest. On May 27th, 2011 Statue of Liberty released The Up State and began promoting the EP, performing shows throughout the country. After spending the summer on the road, Bradford and Kate relocated to Colorado where they plan to record a follow up to, The Up State this is fall. -

"Nothing But A Dream"
Hello Statue of Liberty,
My Brother Stephen and I Never Take YOU for Granted. We Cherish and Want YOU as our FRIEND!
For the last 8 Weeks we have sent out Comments of Appreciation to Our Dear Friends. But Today I have Something to Share with YOU.
I Wrote, Performed and Recorded a Brand NEW Song entitled "NOTHING BUT A DREAM"
For Everyone that has ever been Hurt, Disillusioned, Had a Bad Relationship, A Divorce, Promises that Were Broken...or Feelings of Pain, Betrayal or Just Misunderstandings and Confusion...This Song Is For YOU.
I was sitting in a Hotel Room in Los Angeles on my Bed Friday July 16, 2010, and in 15 Minutes This ENTIRE Song came to me. The Music and Lyrics. I Wrote Them Down on the Hotel Stationary.
I Recorded it Tuesday July 20, 2010 in the Studio. Then Had it Copywritten and Registered with BMI Music.
IT IS GOING ON OUR NEW CD!
If You have been Hurt or Confused by things You can't Understand... GOOD NEWS, God is a God of RESTORATION.
Statue of Liberty, Please Listen and Leave me some Comments if You Like it.
Rock On!! Life is Good!
Your Friends,
Michael Ray and My Brother Stephen

What's up Statue Of Liberty? Your layers of absinthe and torsion form concretions of hyper-alimentation. I relentlessly desire cotton candy lollipops. In your absence I am forced into finding other forms of amusement while thinking about you. The stickers hugging the fruit smell better than the perfume of ambergris. How it passes there and back again like a tear drop glistening in moonlight. Transistors bridge where your vanity would never go. Your wonderfully bright soul keep the demons from torturing me. The skin I shed is a perfume that makes water bubbles so terribly clear to me. Wood nymphs sprinkle your path with rose petals while you dance and prowl in the sequined moonlight with leftover cupcake sprinkles. Entranced by the sweet harmony of your lips, I gaze beyond reason to find the oasis of your brilliant soul. You ever remind me of the enigma of happy thoughts I once forgot. The elves that play in the toasters wash their drum sticks in honey and sing strikingly colored anthems in perfect harmonious pleasure.
