WILD's Original Films Contest is this Friday night WILD (Writers In Literary Discussion) Film Contest takes place each semester for the past 13 years. See films from varioius locations. Meet film makers. Vote for your favorites. This event is free and open to the public. SHOW DATE: Friday, November 20th at 7 PM -- Auditorium, administration building (fronting Pecan and next door to the library) South Texas College. AWARDS: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Prizes awarded by Barnes & Noble. OTHER AWARD CATERGORIES: Best Drama, Best Comedy, Best Horror, Best animation, Best Action, Best Poetic Film, Best Cinematography, Best actor, Best actress, Best Director, Best Documentary, Best Technical Achievement, and Best Valley Film (new category). Winners will be determined by 50% popular vote (audience members will vote) and by 50% of a jury of local celebrities. Lady Lilac -- a play performing this week only -- November 12, 13, 14 at 8 PM. A WILD (Writers In Literary Discussion) EVENT at the Pecan Campus, Building D, Auditorium, STC, McAllen. All shows start at 8 PM. $4 admission.
Written and directed by Roland Quesada, Lady Lilac is a light-hearted romantic comedy/thriller about the frustrations of Internet dating in the Valley and growing flowers. Before the production will be a short mystery: Tom Fuschetto's The Blue Donut Hotel. The doors will open to the auditorium at 7:30 PM. All people are invited. WILD's 3-D Haunted House: Thursday and Friday only October 29 & 30, Thursday & Friday, 7-10 PM WILD's 3-D Haunted House in the Student Lounge, Building H, South Texas College, McAllen. $4.00 Admission. WILD has been running a haunted house for 14 years, but what’s even more exciting is that this haunted house is in mind-bending 3-D. Special effects, including special paints, special lighting, and special glasses will created a maze in a dimension beyond any sight and sound you know about.
