..www.sociallightsounds.com.................. ..Steadfast.................. .. ...."Right now ur hearing a giant, born from the titans, born from the lightning of God himself.....".... ..It seems that these words are well deserved. Born Ernest Salmon, Solomon D'Augustine was raised in Ft. Washington, MD. Growing up he experienced a variety of rhythm. Whether it was sister playing the flute or his grandmother practicing with the church choir, it appeared early on that music would be a mainstay in his lifelong diet. He began writting in 1993 after listening to Wu Tang Clan's debut album and after cultivating his style he linked up with The Homeless Society, a group of emcees and producers repping the New York, Maryland and DC areas. Unfortunately as group members grew lyrically they also grew apart physically, so in 2001 he and the remaining 7 members formed The 70's Slickstahz... ..Seeing the importance of promotion Sol began to to visit different states to spread the word of his new affiliation. Between 2002 and 2004 he could be found persistantly hounding music enthusiests in Florida, Norfolk, Va and New Jersey. No open mic, live performance or street corner cipher went unturned. Follwing this journey he returned home to learn that his vision would have to be a solo venture, and soon after he began producing his own beats. Next to come were Mic Whoppin 101, his first solo LP and Consolidated Freight - The Mixtape. All of these efforts didn't go unnoticed and in early 2008 Solomon not only signed to Godsendant music, an indie label based out of Virginia, but also forged an alliance with Social Light Sounds, a fortress of emcee's, producers and DJ's established in Boston, MA... ..His style has been described as witty, thought provoking and even been responded to with the phrase "Cot Damn", but if u ask him more than likely you'll hear "I just wanna make good music".
