Steady Sound System is New Jesey's Premier Sound. Giving you the best of Ska, Rocksteady, Skinhead reggae, Dub, Roots, Reggae, Rubadub, Dancehall, and Soul. Started humbly with a weekly Thursday night gig at the Court Tavern in New Brunswick in the fall of 2003 by Greene Goblin, aka Nuno, and his right hand men Sugaman, aka Steve, and Intensified (Ed), Steady Soundsystem has been mashing up all kinds of venues in the Tri-State Area ever since. From the Knitting Factory to the Trocadero and everywhere in between, Steady Sound System has shared bills with the likes of Kevin Batchelor of the Skatalites, King Django, The Slackers, Bombtown, Hub City Stompers, Rudy Crew, Bigger Thomas, Ruder Than You, Deals Gone Bad, Mass Hysteria, Predator Dub Assassins, and countless others whom we love and respect, but can't think of right now, haha!
In early 2004 Steady Soundsystem had many guest seletors help out at the weekly New Brunswick gigs, including King Stout and Jess Distress, who became permanent fixtures. 2005 has seen an ever-increasing demand for the versatile showmen of SSS, and although Sugaman and Intensified don't grace us with their sounds as much as they once did, Boss Selector King Stout has shown that he is more than able to ram the dance alongside the 2 main MC's, Greene Goblin annd Tommi Infamous, and alongside the many special guest MC's who've taken the mic, including King Django, Weatherman, Roy Radics, Coolie Ranx, and many more. We invite anyone who would like to take the mic or spin some tunes to come do so, whether to clash(try fi test us!) or bring goood vibes, just rock and come in.
Along with our authentic Jamaican-style stage show, we have also played plenty of private parties, and even more recently, a wedding, and enjoy these gigs just as much as the shows, so if you need some enntertainment featuring any Jamaican music, soul(Motown, Northern Soul, Deep Soul, etc), punk rock, 80's, or even modern pop music and hip-hop, give us a shout!
