It all began as "Ankry Simons" back in 1989. After a few shows, some seven inches and the rare to find "some people would do anything for money" album they made a short pause before coming back as we know them today. Now, almost 20 years, more seven inches, and four great albums later, STEAKKNIFE continue to rule the german punkrock scene, managing to maintain their ideals, their verve and fun.
On stage, STEAKKNIFE are as fresh and powerful as in their early days. Always focused on what they can do best: punk-rock! This is no copy, STEAKKNIFE are the real thing. It's all about style and attitude - accompanied by a winking eye: infact, they consider themselves as the eternal insider's tip.
In the center of the stage action there's the entertainer par excellence: Lee Hollis. One of the very few nice texans. A man, who never got forgotten despite never having been on any talkshow. Known as a charismatic bandleader (also in the legendary Spermbirds and 2Bad), a gifted column writer, author or spoken-word-performer, Lee Hollis knows how to feed his reputation.
The current album "Parallel universe of the dead" was released on ROOKIE RECORDS in march 2007 and stands for the band's dedication to raw, uncompromising punk-rock - with a winking eye!

Die Stadt / Politik hat es noch nie besonders interessiert was wir gemacht haben. - Seltsam - Und auch wir haben uns am Schluss nicht mehr dafür interessiert, was uns interessiert hat. Also ist jetzt Schluss. Nun mehr gibt es jedoch ein allerletztes Mal die Möglichkeit, bei angemessenen Getöse im Schloss zu versumpfen. Acht Bands, an zwei Tagen, werden den ehrwürdigen Saal gebührend beschallen.
