Stearica is a three-piece band from Turin, Italy.

Their music combines visionary musical landscapes with agressive explosions. Their deep sound has been developing during the past 10 years intense live activity also thanks to the fact that they toured with legendary independent bands like Nomeansno, GirlsAgainstBoys, Damo Suzuki, The Ex, Karate, Acid Mothers Temple, Tarentel, Kid 606, etc.

Their first full-lenght album 'Oltre' is a ten songs work presenting the ability of the band to explore different music attitudes producing a never-stopping sonic flow.

Moreover ‘Oltre' features special guests like Dälek mc and Oktopus producer (Dälek), Amy Denio (Fred Frith, Derek Bailey, Matt Cameron, The Tiptons, etc), Jessica Lurie (Bill Frisell, Nels Cline, The Indigo Girls, The Tiptons, etc), Nick Storring (Damo Suzuki network, Picastro, etc).

Since the Oltre's release, it started a tour which counts over 90 concerts all around Europe, playing in the main capital cities like in London, Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, Bruxelles, Copenhagen, Oslo, Bern, Riga, Vilnius and so on.

Stearica played international festivals like the Hokaben in London (with Don Caballero, Sun Ra Arkestra, Chris Corsano), the Be2gether in Lithuania (with Groove Armada, GvsB, Clinic), the Traffic in Turin (with Tricky, Battles), the Soy in Nantes (with Why?, Six Organce of Admittance, No Age), etc.

In november 2008 Acid Mothers Temple choose Stearica like support band for the whole european tour, playing together 30 concerts and collecting a big success everywhere. During the 2009 it will be released an album which those 7 musicians recorded together. It'll be a masterpiece!

Stearica è un trio nato a Torino nel dispari 1997.

Nel corso di questi dieci anni la band ha maturato un sound profondo che porta con sè le tracce degli intensi tour al fianco di leggende della scena indipendente come Nomeansno, GirlsAgainstBoys, Damo Suzuki, The Ex, Karate, Acid Mothers Temple, Tarentel, Kid 606, etc.

Il loro primo album 'Oltre' si muove con agilità tra deliri sonori, anticlimax acustici, momenti di intimismo e poi di nuovo furiose scorribande ai limiti dell’umana concezione.

Non meno importante è l’ambito delle collaborazioni internazionali, infatti 'Oltre' vanta la presenza di ospiti del calibro di Dälek mc e Oktopus producer (Dälek/Ipecac), Amy Denio (Fred Frith, Derek Bailey, Matt Cameron, The Tiptons, etc), Jessica Lurie (Bill Frisell, Nels Cline, The Indigo Girls, The Tiptons, etc), Nick Storring (Damo Suzuki network, Picastro, etc).

Il tour di OLTRE conta più di un 90 concerti attraverso le principali capitali europee da Londra a Roma, da Oslo a Riga, da Amsterdam a Berna, da Bruxelles a Francoforte e così via.

Gli Stearica hanno suonato sul palco di festival internazionali come il Traffic Festival (la stessa sera si esibivano Battles e Tricky) a Torino, come unica band italiana all'Hokaben festival di Londra (con Don Caballero, Sun Ra Arkestra, Chris Corsano) ed al Be2gether festival la manifestazione più importante nell'ex URSS (con Groove Armada, Clinic, Girls Against Boys, etc.), al Soy Festival a Nantes (con Why?, Six Organce of Admittance, No Age), etc.

Nel Novembre 2008 tornano a solcare i palchi di tutta Europa insieme agli Acid Mothers Temple che li invitano a suonare tutto il tour europeo al loro fianco e non contenti ne fotografano insieme tutte le emozioni maturate in 30 concerti in un disco che sarà pubblicato nel prossimo 2009.

Dopo dieci anni, escono finalmente allo scoperto e l'Italia ora è pronta ad andare oltre?
