The Band started in spring of 02...it was Chris(lead vokillz/bassist) and gil (lead guitar) who started Steel Batallion...The name was an idea from a MetallicA song "Metal Militia"...Chris thought instead of just calling the band Metal Militia how bout a different way of saying it...so Steel Batallion...(note:i didn't there was a video game until after i thought of the name)...so the band started out with only two memebers...but obviously the batallion needed more Generals...so gil drafted his cuzin sean...a fucken heavy and fast guitarist! and than the Batallion was a three peice...as the 3 peice the first song that the band learned was a MetallicA cover "For Whom The Bell Tolls" but the band still had no drummer...but a close friend to the band named Bob one day was watching the band practice...and out of no where Bob said,"I'm getting DRUMS!" and that very day the Batallion was a full band!Bob tought his on self how to play drums...been playing for only a year and he is one fast and crazy motherfucker who beats the shit out of his drums! but alittle longer down the line we began having troubles with our friend/brother/lead guitarist gil...completing 2 original songs with him...and than he had to leave the band for personal reasons...so the Batallion became a three peice...but they were able to pull it off.....keeping it heavy. We played our first show On January 10th 2004 in whittier california, at Skateland...the show was a success...Thanx to ExMortus...The Batallion began to spread there name...slowly but surely...and still doing it...lol....
And ever since the Steel Batallion and Ex Mortus have been extremely close to one another...But like all bands we had our problems...we broght a new singer one of our good friends Stuart...and than DRAMA...with this drama came a new drummer another really close friend of the Batallion...KUJO! But unfortunately it did not last with Kujo or Stuart...after awhile Bob returned to the Batallion...With the 3 orginal members we began working on a new song Reign Of The Metal Storm....and than we got a show over in La Puente...and it turned out that our ole friend Stu was gonna be at this show....and that nite will go down in Steel Batallion history...a nite where differences were put aside and we played one hell of show for La Puente, and the return of our Green Loving Four Lead Clover Growing Rainbow Riding Pot Of Gold Brother Stu!! Recieving one hell of response from la punte we all had a new view on what we want and we are capable of bringing! After that show with the help of our CLOSE friends in Ex Mortus we began to get our name out there...With the completion of our first demo we began to think that it was time to bring in another general to Steel Batallion...So after one more Song we began looking for a new guitarist...and we found him in a talented musician....Dyame....and now we have nothing in our way...and we are prepared to bring nothing but TRUE FUCKEN METAL TO ALL OF YOU OUT THERE! AND WITH OUR BROTHERS FROM EX MORTUS HEADING OUT THERE WITH US ON THE FRONT LINES WE WILL BE UNSTOPABLE! METAL UP YOU ASS!
