Long-time favorite Milwaukee Irish/Celtic band Steel Bonnets are back! There have been some personnel changes but they are back, stronger than ever. Randy Adams leads the band with his strong guitar work and expressive vocals. Tom Young returns as the steady hand on the bass guitar. Dan Brown anchors the sound with his unique hand-drum style on a customized drum kit. Dan Smars adds rhythm guitar and vocals. Added to this spicy haggis is the fancy fiddlin' of Cori Bonkalski on violin. This is the core of the new, rockin' sound of Steel Bonnets. The band has been busy in 2008, with appearances at the The Miramar Theater and McBob's Pub & Grill in March, as well as St. Patrick's Day at McAuliffe's Pub in Racine, WI; an appearance at the Irish Cultural Heritage Center on May 10 and a return engagement at McAuliffe's Pub, opening up for Seven Nations on May 23. We showed up at the Milwaukee Highland Games on June 7, played one song and then got shut down because of severe weather. We then played a "pre-Irish Fest" party at McBob's Pub & Grill in Milwaukee on Aug. 2, and Irish Fest on Aug 16 to a large, lively and appreciative crowd. Next up was the Wisconsin Highland Games at the Waukesha Expo Center on Sept. 6. Be sure to check in to this site for future shows and catch the Steel Bonnets live!
