Sounds Like
We are not your typical garage band. We make music which, keep in mind, sounds like anything. We are not a heavy hardcore scream-your-lungs-out rock band, and if that turns you off - that's just too bad. We play a variety of music, most of which infuses pop and rock. Our songs are all different because we like to experiment; we combine tastes of our individual preferences when writing songs. What's most important is that we make beautiful sound, because in the end, that's just what music's all about.
Bio featured on www.jamminjava.com for the September 15, 2007 CD Launch Party:
Many years have gone by and the dream of any musician will become reality for Steel Polly on September 15, 2007 with the launching of the long awaited CD “Incognito.” And what will it sound like? The band has been known to play anything and everything, fusing the spunky sounds of pop with the heavy beats of rock and adding a spritz of Indie and reggae every now and then. Said to produce “girlish vocals and emotional crescendos [that] flirt with the sweeter sound of rock in the mold of Eisley,” Steel Polly can entice the avid listener, whether it be with their funky tunes or their deep meaningful ballads. A genuine treat awaits every listener who basks in the vibe of Steel Polly; be prepared for a night of soul-felt music inspired by the chaotic and confusing life of teenagers.
Comprised mostly of teenagers with different preferences to musical taste, Steel Polly adds a combo of musical flavor including rock, pop rock, some indie now and then, some alternative, and sometimes, perhaps, whatever sounds good? Steel Polly is a co-ed band featuring 4 females on vocals, drums, guitar, and bass, and 2 males on lead guitar and featured keyboards. Many of the songs they perform are originals composed by members through individual work or collaborations. The band has performed in places such as The Knitting Factory, 8x10, and Frazier's on the Avenue, and won 2nd place in the 2007 Seneca Creek Community Church Battle of the Bands.
