About Steel Union

Steel Union is a Northamptonshire based duo playing traditional acoustic delta and country blues; that being acoustic blues mostly from the period 1920 through to 1945 ish. We play the songs of the great Delta and Country Blues players such as Son House, Robert Johnson, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, Lightnin' Hopkins and many more.

Rich plays a National Reso-Phonic GuitarSteel Union comprises Richard Gibson on Vocals & Blues Harp and Richard Turner on Vocals, National Slide Guitar & Acoustic Guitar.

Together Steel Union recreate the sounds evocative of the Mississippi deep south in days gone by, blues harp wailing and cryin' whilst driving steel guitar generate the rhythms of the railroads and the great express trains as they thundered by.

Greetings from the left coast of Canada...

There is something so inherently wonderful about the guitar/harmonica blues duo - from Sonny & Brownie through to Cephas & Wiggins. It's great stuff and you both do it so fine.

Be well, play on.

Thank you for that, I was just talking about you two today and letting my parents listen to your Demo CD, they loved it too. I will make one of the nights for sure and bring the parents. But knowing me I'll probably have to do both evenings. Your an awesome duo and you really get your instruments to talk to you x
