About Steel Union

Steel Union is a Northamptonshire based duo playing authentic traditional acoustic blues; that being acoustic blues mostly from the period 1920 through to 1945 ish. We play the songs of the great Delta and Country Blues players such as Son House, Robert Johnson, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, Lightnin' Hopkins and many more.

Rich plays a National Reso-Phonic GuitarSteel Union comprises Richard Gibson on Vocals & Blues Harp and Richard Turner on Vocals, National Slide Guitar & Acoustic Guitar.

Together Steel Union recreate the sounds evocative of the Mississippi deep south in days gone by, blues harp wailing and cryin' whilst driving steel guitar generate the rhythms of the railroads and the great express trains as they thundered by.

Please come and enjoy our festival with us!

Tickets are now on sale for LEGEND: Bob Marley & The Wailers tribute act on Friday 15th August at The Brewery Tap in Peterborough. Considered the best Bob Marley tribute act in the UK, band members have played with such greats as Desmond Decker, Apache Indian, The Beat and Musical Youth. Their two hour set is guaranteed to have you dancing and singing along to the legendary hits from the King of Reggae.

Supporting Legend and warming you up earlier in the evening are the fantastic soul/funksters Groove Cartel, plus DJ Wolfman Jock playing some rare pop psychadelica groves from over the decades.

Tickets are only available in advance and sold out quickly last year. However, this year you can order by credit card on 01733 358500 or in person from The Brewery Tap or Charters in Peterborough... just £10 each.

This promises to be an awesome night of entertainment will also help raise funds for Sue Ryder Care at Thorpe Hall Hospice, so please do support us. There is also a range of authentic Thai cuisine available before the music starts, so you can make a night of it!

See MySpace page for more details or go to www.randallrootz.org to find out more about our events over that weekend.

Hope to see you there!
Cheers from all of us at Randall Rootz

Greetings from the left coast of Canada...

There is something so inherently wonderful about the guitar/harmonica blues duo - from Sonny & Brownie through to Cephas & Wiggins. It's great stuff and you both do it so fine.

Be well, play on.

Burning Bodies Burning hearts In scents of the day Two crows and the jet of night upon their wings Look how skulls abandon themselves on the shore of your sea How eyes remain fresh like the skin of a ripe apple and our hands glisten with gold,
