Stefan Rosqvist
Swedish guitarist
Stefan Rosqvist started his career playing with a band called "scratch", before appearing in several instrumental lineups in his native Helsingborg.
In 1992 he left Sweden to study at the prestigious Musicians Institute in Hollywood, where he met many inspiring and influential players. For the next couple of years, Stefan would teach hundreds of students, and work around Sweden and Denmark, gigging with several different bands.
In 2001 Stefan joined forces with his old friend, keyboardist Lalle Larsson- Who coincidentally appears on Rosqvist's tune. "Neverland" (The Alchemist)- Lending his guitar playing talents to Larsson's rock fusion band, Ominox. The following years Stefan played guitar for Lalle's groundbreaking "Seven deadly pieces"- A concert for chamber orchestra and electric guitars, later to be released on DVD.
After contributing two songs to Liquid note record's compilations, "The Alchemist" and "The Alchemist 2"- "Neverland and the affecting "At Last" (w/Bo Ericsson)- The time was right for LNR to release his 2008 debute album, "The Guitar Diaries".
Reuniting with respected Swedish guitarist Bo Ericsson (Ominox), and with solid rocking support from powerhouse drummer, Peter Wildoer (Darkane, Non Human Level, Electrocution 250) and bassist Joakim Attoff, Stefan has moulded an incredible debute CD full of strong melodies and heartfelt compositions. In collaboration with the afore mentioned Ericsson - Not to mention a plethora of players such as Christoffer Malmström (Darkane, Non Human Level), Chris Schleyer (Nine Inch Nails), Phi Yaan-Zek and co/composer Lalle Larsson (Ominox, Electrocution 250, Weaveworld) - "The guitar diaries" is going to turn heads for sure.
When he's not teaching, Stefan also plays with the "Pelle Lindberg band".
