  • General

    I cook, brew, read, write, garden, camp, hunt, do various crafts in metal, wood, leather, cloth and other materials; not much that does not interest me.

  • Music

    I like almost every sort of music. Favorites: Blue Oyster Cult, anything Richie Blackmore, Danzig, Beethoven, Sons of the Pioneers, Clannad, Drop Kick Murpheys, Mozart... I have over 2000 tapes, LPs and CDs.

  • Movies

    Very little of what is now popular; just not that many interesting or original ideas coming out of Hollyweird. I like well made, or even just entertaining, films in the following genres: Science Fiction, Fantasy, Historical - Fiction and Non, Westerns, Action, Light Comedy, Dramas...

  • Television

    The entire Law & Order franchise (actually, most any Cop/Cop & Lawyer show), History, Discovery and Learning channels, SciFi channel (many programs) Fox news, very little from the Big 3 networks, some sports (mostly baseball and horse racing)

  • Books

    I own over 10,000. My fiction tastes are smiliar to my movie and tv tastes. My nonfiction topics run the gamut from flint knapping to maser theory.

  • Heroes

    My parents, grand parents, great grandparents and so on. My wife Anita. So many family and non-family adults who helped shape my life. Several military men of my acquaintence and knowledge. Plus there are many folks whose example gives me something to live up to.

About me:

I am Asatru That is, I follow as best I can the worldview, morals, ethics and faith of my pre-Christian northern European forebears. I am a member of Oak Shadow Kindred; my home being known as Catamount Grange Hearth. Lots of folks find my poetry entertaining and inspiring. Having a broad range of European (Celtic - Germanic - Nordic - Baltic - Italic) plus a little American Indian ancestry is what makes me who I am. The voices of my Northern Forebears sing loudest in my heart. Though, to be whole, I must love and honor all of them, and their lives. I'm a native of the Pioneer Valley in western Mass. I'm married to my college sweetheart (25 years in June 2007) and am on the shady side of 50. We have 3 cats: Kessie, Hildie and Chessie. I work retail and currently live in northern Illinois.
